<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I650120">  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</enactingFormula>
<section id="d23560e62" identifier="/us/bill/115/hr/4254/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I650146"><num value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I650120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Women in Aerospace Education Act</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d23560e72" identifier="/us/bill/115/hr/4254/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I650141"><num value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>ROBERT NOYCE TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES.</heading><subsection class="indentUp0 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d23560e76" identifier="/us/bill/115/hr/4254/s2/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I650120"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>The National Science Foundation Authorization Act of 2002 (<ref href="/us/pl/107/368">Public Law 107–368</ref>; <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s1862n/etseq">42 U.S.C. 1862n et seq.</ref>) <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d23560e94" identifier="/us/bill/115/hr/4254/s2/a/1" style="-uslm-lc:I650122"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>in section 10(a)(3)(A)(iv), by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>, including research experiences at national laboratories and NASA centers</quotedText>” before the semicolon; and</content></paragraph><paragraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d23560e102" identifier="/us/bill/115/hr/4254/s2/a/2" style="-uslm-lc:I650122"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><chapeau>in section 10A(c)(4)—</chapeau><subparagraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d23560e106" identifier="/us/bill/115/hr/4254/s2/a/2/A" style="-uslm-lc:I650124"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><content>in subparagraph (A), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>and</quotedText>” at the end;</content></subparagraph><subparagraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d23560e114" identifier="/us/bill/115/hr/4254/s2/a/2/B" style="-uslm-lc:I650124"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="B">(B) </num><content>in subparagraph (B), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> the period at the end and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>; and</quotedText>”; and</content></subparagraph><subparagraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d23560e125" identifier="/us/bill/115/hr/4254/s2/a/2/C" style="-uslm-lc:I650124"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="C">(C) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following:<quotedContent><subparagraph class="indentUp2 firstIndent1 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I650124"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="C">“(C) </num><content>providing internship opportunities for fellows, including research experiences at national laboratories and NASA Centers.”</content></subparagraph></quotedContent>.</content></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection class="indentUp0 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d23560e139" identifier="/us/bill/115/hr/4254/s2/b" style="-uslm-lc:I650120"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">Effective Date</inline>.—</heading><content>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to grants awarded on or after October 1, 2018.</content></subsection></section>
<section id="d23560e148" identifier="/us/bill/115/hr/4254/s3" style="-uslm-lc:I650141"><num value="3">SEC. 3. </num><heading>NASA INTERNSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I650120">  Not later than October 1, 2018, the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (in this section referred to as “NASA”) shall institute a process to encourage the recruitment of qualified candidates who are women or individuals who are underrepresented in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and computer science for internships and fellowships at NASA with relevance to the aerospace sector and related fields.</content></section>
