<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I650120">  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</enactingFormula>
<section id="d143268e62" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/5195/s1" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I650146"><num value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>EXTENSION OF AFGHAN SPECIAL IMMIGRANT PROGRAM.</heading><content class="indentUp0 firstIndent1 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I650120">  Section 602(b)(3) of the Afghan Allies Protection Act of 2009 (<ref href="/us/usc/t8/s1101">8 U.S.C. 1101 note</ref>) <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following:<quotedContent><subparagraph class="indentUp2 firstIndent1 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I650124"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="E">“(E) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">Special rule for end of calendar year 2014</inline>.—</heading><clause class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I650126"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="i">“(i) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">In general</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>During the period beginning on the date of the enactment of this subparagraph and ending on December 31, 2014, an additional 1,000 principal aliens may be provided special immigrant status under this section. For purposes of status provided under this subparagraph—</chapeau><subclause class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I650128"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="I">“(I) </num><content>the period during which an alien must have been employed in accordance with paragraph (2)(A)(ii) must terminate on or before December 31, 2014;</content></subclause><subclause class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I650128"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="II">“(II) </num><content>the principal alien seeking special immigrant status under this subparagraph shall apply to the Chief of Mission in accordance with paragraph (2)(D) not later than December 31, 2014; and</content></subclause><subclause class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I650128"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="III">“(III) </num><content>the authority to provide such status shall terminate on December 31, 2014.</content></subclause></clause><clause class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I650126"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="ii">“(ii) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">Construction</inline>.—</heading><content>Clause (i) shall not be construed to affect the authority, numerical limitations, or terms for provision of status, under subparagraph (D).”</content></clause></subparagraph></quotedContent>.</content></section>
<section id="d143268e116" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/5195/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I650141"><num value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>TEMPORARY FEE INCREASE FOR CERTAIN CONSULAR SERVICES.</heading><subsection class="indentUp0 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d143268e120" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/5195/s2/a" style="-uslm-lc:I650120"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content>Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of State, not later than January 1, 2015, shall increase the fee or surcharge authorized under section 140(a) of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1994 and 1995 (<ref href="/us/pl/103/236">Public Law 103–236</ref>; <ref href="/us/usc/t8/s1351">8 U.S.C. 1351 note</ref>) by $1.00 for processing machine-readable nonimmigrant visas and machine-readable combined border crossing identification cards and nonimmigrant visas.</content></subsection><subsection class="indentUp0 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d143268e135" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/5195/s2/b" style="-uslm-lc:I650120"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">Deposit of Amounts</inline>.—</heading><content>Notwithstanding section 140(a)(2) of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1994 and 1995 (<ref href="/us/pl/103/236">Public Law 103–236</ref>; <ref href="/us/usc/t8/s1351">8 U.S.C. 1351 note</ref>), the additional amount collected pursuant the fee increase authorized under subsection (a) shall be deposited in the general fund of the Treasury.</content></subsection><subsection class="indentUp0 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d143268e150" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/5195/s2/c" style="-uslm-lc:I650120"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="c">(c) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">Sunset Provision</inline>.—</heading><content>The fee increase authorized under subsection (a) shall terminate on the date that is 5.5 years after the first date on which such increased fee is collected.</content></subsection></section>
