<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I650120">  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</enactingFormula>
<section id="d143386e62" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/4386/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I650146"><num value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I650120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Money Remittances Improvement Act of 2014</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d143386e72" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/4386/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I650141"><num value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>COMPLIANCE AUTHORITY FOR CERTAIN REPORTING REQUIREMENTS.</heading><subsection class="indentUp0 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d143386e76" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/4386/s2/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I650120"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">Compliance With Reporting Requirements on Monetary Instrument Transactions</inline>.—</heading><chapeau><ref href="/us/usc/t31/s5318/a">Section 5318(a) of title 31, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d143386e90" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/4386/s2/a/1" style="-uslm-lc:I650122"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>in paragraph (5), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>and</quotedText>” at the end;</content></paragraph><paragraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d143386e98" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/4386/s2/a/2" style="-uslm-lc:I650122"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="redesignate">redesignating</amendingAction> paragraph (6) as paragraph (7); and</content></paragraph><paragraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d143386e106" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/4386/s2/a/3" style="-uslm-lc:I650122"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">(3) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> after paragraph (5) the following:<quotedContent><paragraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I650122"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="6">“(6) </num><chapeau>rely on examinations conducted by a State supervisory agency of a category of financial institution, if the Secretary determines that—</chapeau><subparagraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I650124"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">“(A) </num><content>the category of financial institution is required to comply with this subchapter and regulations prescribed under this subchapter; or</content></subparagraph><subparagraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I650124"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="B">“(B) </num><content>the State supervisory agency examines the category of financial institution for compliance with this subchapter and regulations prescribed under this subchapter; and”</content></subparagraph></paragraph></quotedContent>.</content></paragraph></subsection><subsection class="indentUp0 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d143386e128" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/4386/s2/b" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I650120"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">Compliance With Reporting Requirements of Other Financial Institutions</inline>.—</heading><chapeau><ref href="/us/pl/91/508/s128">Section 128 of Public Law 91–508</ref> (<ref href="/us/usc/t12/s1958">12 U.S.C. 1958</ref>) <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d143386e145" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/4386/s2/b/1" style="-uslm-lc:I650122"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>this title</quotedText>” and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>this chapter and section 21 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (<ref href="/us/usc/t12/s1829b">12 U.S.C. 1829b</ref>)</quotedText>”; and</content></paragraph><paragraph class="indentUp1 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d143386e159" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/4386/s2/b/2" style="-uslm-lc:I650122"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> at the end the following: “<quotedText>The Secretary may rely on examinations conducted by a State supervisory agency of a category of financial institution, if the Secretary determines that the category of financial institution is required to comply with this chapter and section 21 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (and regulations prescribed under this chapter and section 21 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act), or the State supervisory agency examines the category of financial institution for compliance with this chapter and section 21 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (and regulations prescribed under this chapter and section 21 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act).</quotedText>”.</content></paragraph></subsection><subsection class="indentUp0 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d143386e167" identifier="/us/bill/113/hr/4386/s2/c" style="-uslm-lc:I650120"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="c">(c) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">Consultation With State Agencies</inline>.—</heading><content>In issuing rules to carry out <ref href="/us/usc/t31/s5318/a/6">section 5318(a)(6) of title 31, United States Code</ref>, and <ref href="/us/pl/91/508/s128">section 128 of Public Law 91–508</ref> (<ref href="/us/usc/t12/s1958">12 U.S.C. 1958</ref>), the Secretary of the Treasury shall consult with State supervisory agencies.</content></subsection></section>
