RES. 258</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250602">June 2, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S399">Mr. Hawley</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S420">Mr. Schmitt</cosponsor>) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Honoring the lives and service of Natalie and Davy Lloyd and expressing condolence to the family of Natalie and Davy Lloyd.</official-title></form><preamble><whereas><text>Whereas Natalie Elizabeth Lloyd—</text><paragraph id="idd5f29a39f1fb4010a2672e7ae561a482"><enum>(1)</enum><text>was born on March 2, 2003, in Joplin, Missouri;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id14ef87a258784ef2a63b48f58a50f051"><enum>(2)</enum><text>graduated from Ozark Christian Academy and Ozark Bible Institute and College; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idfc2b0e33241d418fb1cb29c390aadc1a"><enum>(3)</enum><text>was known for her exceptionally kind heart, her love for everyone she encountered, and her dedication to caring for children;</text></paragraph></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas David (<quote>Davy</quote>) Joseph Lloyd, III—</text><paragraph id="id2335c63a8c00403b8a217faa0cdacbca"><enum>(1)</enum><text>was born on July 3, 2000, in Tulsa, Oklahoma;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id48d1572051ab4f6693509d1504f0fdb0"><enum>(2)</enum><text>grew up in Haiti, developing a heart for the Haitian community; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id2a81d4aa708943c09b3d54e8e53192b2"><enum>(3)</enum><text>graduated from Ozark Bible Institute and College in Neosho in April 2022 and went on to become an effective preacher;</text></paragraph></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Natalie and Davy Lloyd were married on June 18, 2022, at the Bible Holiness Assembly of God in Neosho, Missouri;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Natalie and Davy Lloyd began their married life together in Neosho, Missouri;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Natalie and Davy Lloyd became full-time missionaries in Haiti in January 2023 with Missions in Haiti, serving the Haitian community and, in particular, Haitian children through a local orphanage; and</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Natalie and Davy Lloyd were tragically killed by lawless Haitian gangs on May 23, 2024: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble><resolution-body><section id="S1" display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section"><text>That the Senate—</text><paragraph id="id68e3172ac14040aca0fa6585a7576300"><enum>(1)</enum><text>extends heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Natalie and David (<quote>Davy</quote>) Lloyd;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idb86d753ef15f4e4198ab21a6619fc09a"><enum>(2)</enum><text>recognizes and honors Natalie and Davy Lloyd as extraordinarily faithful missionaries who selflessly dedicated their entire lives to God and serving others; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id61192bd797514ed8a741ab0f091a872b"><enum>(3)</enum><text>commemorates the amazing work Natalie and Davy Lloyd completed as missionaries in Haiti and the powerful legacy that the young couple leaves.</text></paragraph></section></resolution-body></resolution>
