RES. 221</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250513">May 13, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S266">Mr. Crapo</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S323">Mr. Risch</cosponsor>) submitted the following resolution; which was considered and agreed to</action-desc></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Congratulating the College of Idaho Yotes for winning the 2025 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Men’s Basketball National Championship.</official-title></form><preamble><whereas><text>Whereas, on March 25, 2025, the College of Idaho Yotes won the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (<quote>NAIA</quote>) Men’s Basketball National Championship with a resounding 93–65 victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan University;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas, in the 2024-2025 season, the Yotes earned an astonishing 35–2 record;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the Yotes starting guard Samaje Morgan contributed a game-high total of 28 points;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Dougie Peoples scored 21 points within 15 minutes and hit 5 shots from behind the 3-point line;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Johnny Radford and Tyler Robinett scored 12 and 10 points, respectively;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the Yotes entered halftime with a decisive 20-point lead;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas this is the Yotes’ third NAIA Men’s National Basketball Championship title and their second title in the last 3 years;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the Yotes have an undefeated 3–0 record in NAIA Men’s National Basketball Championship games;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the people of the State of Idaho are united in celebrating the College of Idaho’s tremendous success; and</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the College of Idaho’s students, faculty, administration, and athletic personnel are recognized for supporting the team throughout the 2024–2025 season: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble><resolution-body><section id="S1" display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section"><text>That the Senate—</text><paragraph id="id8893c36c370840ac97e22bd7e69bb764"><enum>(1)</enum><text>congratulates the College of Idaho Yotes for winning the 2025 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Men’s Basketball National Championship;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id23ab512c45e74aeb8877e94da73f8f39"><enum>(2)</enum><text>recognizes the achievements of the players, coaches, support staff, faculty, and fans who were instrumental in the College of Idaho’s victory; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id4284853ead5a4750b3a8edcf997f634a"><enum>(3)</enum><text>respectfully requests the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of this resolution for appropriate display to—</text><subparagraph id="id79142c80997c4a688ad233ce3973abb6"><enum>(A)</enum><text>the president of the College of Idaho, Doug Brigham;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id3a0b9cfb9a7c4ec292c81780c19ecd3c"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the vice president of athletics of the College of Idaho, Reagan Rossi; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id8cba1be1ccab44d3814caf0d7ca4f6b9"><enum>(C)</enum><text>the head coach of the College of Idaho men’s basketball team, Colby Blaine.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></resolution-body></resolution>
