<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 901</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20250306">March 6, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S384">Mr. Tillis</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSBK00">Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><action><action-date date="20250730">July 30, 2025</action-date><action-desc>Committee discharged; referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSBK00">Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Small Business Act and the Small Business Investment Act of 1958 to increase the maximum loan amount for certain loans, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="HF28D1FF45C3A4B57B2943F94B350A786"><section section-type="section-one" id="H782C099E0335497AB2500004F54D9E34"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Loans In Our Neighborhoods Act of 2025</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>LIONs Act of 2025</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H981377EB3E754F3890C9FA01665527C9"><enum>2.</enum><header>Maximum loan amount for a 7<enum-in-header>(a)</enum-in-header> loan</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 7(a)(3)(A) of the Small Business Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/636">15 U.S.C. 636(a)(3)(A)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>$3,750,000 (or if the gross loan amount would exceed $5,000,000)</quote> and inserting <quote>$7,500,000 (or if the gross loan amount would exceed $10,000,000)</quote>.</text></section><section id="H9F54C2D09EE04CEEACB1050367EBBFD7"><enum>3.</enum><header>Maximum loan amount for a development company loan</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 502(2)(A) of the Small Business Investment Act of 1958 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/696">15 U.S.C. 696(2)(A)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HA8772E91DE3C4EF088280029BC731587"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>$5,000,000</quote> each place it appears and inserting <quote>$10,000,000</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HDFD542C5E8F843B08FF51C493E3A7F18"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>$5,500,000</quote> each place it appears and inserting <quote>$10,000,000</quote>.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
