<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 837</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20250304">March 4, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S247">Mr. Wyden</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S359">Mr. Heinrich</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S316">Mr. Whitehouse</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S322">Mr. Merkley</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S369">Mr. Markey</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S390">Mr. Van Hollen</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S422">Mr. Welch</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S361">Ms. Hirono</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S229">Mrs. Murray</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S341">Mr. Blumenthal</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S337">Mr. Coons</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S253">Mr. Durbin</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S366">Ms. Warren</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S259">Mr. Reed</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To repeal certain executive orders.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="id6ec569638d9f4fcb8253fee9e0892513" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Defending American Jobs and Affordable Energy Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="ida8fe2bb5eba44e9eb0c5ebca3f2447ec"><enum>2.</enum><header>Repeal of executive orders</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id3edcc1b22d6e442bb37919d660d18308"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Effective beginning on the date of enactment of this Act, the Executive orders described in subsection (b) shall have no force or effect and no Federal funds may be used to implement, administer, enforce, or carry out those Executive orders.</text></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idefb5bbb045e1456283c3c9e197be40e2"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Executive Orders described</header><text>The Executive orders referred to in subsection (a) are the following:</text><paragraph id="id502204f4179d4aac9a5b4a7069777572"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Executive order entitled <quote>Unleashing American Energy</quote> issued January 20, 2025.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id7d85f2eeae4546a5a5c571c752a1c713"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Executive order entitled <quote>Putting America First in International Environmental Agreements</quote> issued January 20, 2025.</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idbce5e615779f450eaab88899d080d53c"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Executive order entitled <quote>Declaring a National Energy Emergency</quote> issued January 20, 2025.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id42d7848af8944659b81153aea0d0e624"><enum>(4)</enum><text>Executive order entitled <quote>Temporary Withdrawal of All Areas on the Outer Continental Shelf from Offshore Wind Leasing and Review of the Federal Government’s Leasing and Permitting Practices for Wind Projects</quote> issued January 20, 2025.</text></paragraph></subsection></section><section id="ida1aeb490492443e6913f37f09f056853"><enum>3.</enum><header>Savings provision</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Nothing in this Act shall be construed to impair any authority granted to the President. </text></section></legis-body></bill>
