<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 804</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20250227">February 27, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S253">Mr. Durbin</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S422">Mr. Welch</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S427">Mr. Schiff</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSFR00">Committee on Foreign Relations</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To terminate authorizations for the use of military force and declarations of war no later than 10 years after the enactment of such authorizations or declarations.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section section-type="section-one" id="S1"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Accountability for Endless Wars Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="idF7709B3F75424945A28B62F90736E828"><enum>2.</enum><header>Termination of authorizations for the use of military force and declarations of war</header><subsection id="idB9F3BE2D3E6644498B0E20E4E0AADD8C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Future authorizations for the use of military force and declarations of war</header><text>Any authorization for the use of military force or declaration of war enacted into law after the date of the enactment of this Act shall terminate on the date that is 10 years after the date of the enactment of such authorization or declaration. </text></subsection><subsection id="id0D4BD93BD2E7409D8054B13058433334"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Existing authorizations for the use of military force and declarations of war</header><text>Any authorization for the use of military force or declaration of war enacted before the date of the enactment of this Act shall terminate on the date that is 6 months after the date of such enactment.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
