<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><calendar>Calendar No. 188</calendar><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 748</legis-num><associated-doc role="report">[Report No. 119–79]</associated-doc><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20250226">February 26, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S413">Mr. Padilla</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SLIA00">Committee on Indian Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><action stage="Reported-in-Senate"><action-date date="20251014">October 14, 2025</action-date><action-desc>Reported by <sponsor name-id="S288">Ms. Murkowski</sponsor>, without amendment</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To reaffirm the applicability of the Indian Reorganization Act to the Lytton Rancheria of California, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" section-type="section-one" id="S1"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Lytton Rancheria of California land reaffirmation</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id82d5792b32474111ace28c7f85088372"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Lytton Rancheria of California is subject to the Act of June 18, 1934 (commonly known as the <quote>Indian Reorganization Act</quote>) (48 Stat. 984, chapter 576; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/25/5101">25 U.S.C. 5101 et seq.</external-xref>), and the Secretary of the Interior may acquire and take into trust land for the benefit of the Lytton Rancheria of California pursuant to section 5 of that Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/25/5108">25 U.S.C. 5108</external-xref>). </text></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ida471dff2328c40a89e64a3a0d2985dd0"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Land To Be made part of the reservation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Land taken into trust pursuant to subsection (a) shall be—</text><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ida369a084589942758f9a11919db11126"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">part of the reservation of the Lytton Rancheria of California; and </text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idaf28de84a78c439b9b21edd64e9155a0"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">administered in accordance with the laws and regulations generally applicable to property held in trust by the United States for an Indian Tribe.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body><endorsement><action-date date="20251014">October 14, 2025</action-date><action-desc>Reported without amendment</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
