 certain aliens in the Armed Forces, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="H72AFAA5FDC9043BBB95DCDC0186F2F29"><section section-type="section-one" id="H79884019A61049499E379EA9D9369C16"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Fight for the American Dream Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="HFC0799BE422E4A61A3E413880D6D54B9"><enum>2.</enum><header>Additional qualified persons for enlistment in the Armed Forces</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idd1fc69042bfd46b2903078525db6f5b3"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 504(b)(1) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H9BACADCDD4024ACAB2F604D672DF06FD"><subparagraph id="H3FF8F7CB686C447299086A2A4FEAB6ED" indent="up1"><enum>(D)</enum><text>A person who, at the time of enlistment in an armed force, possesses an employment authorization document issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services under the requirements of the Department of Homeland Security policy entitled <quote>Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals</quote>.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection id="H9149CBBB585A4DFE8B178880CBD7F1CA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical amendments</header><paragraph id="H906DF14938804E3996A3DBC1400D494B"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Section heading</header><text>Section 504 of title 10, United States Code, is amended, in the section heading, by adding at the end the following: <quote><header-in-text style="USC" level="section">; citizenship or residency requirements; exceptions</header-in-text></quote>.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HBAF20DEF3C554CCFB90F9F443897B780"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Table of sections</header><text>The table of sections at the beginning of <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/10/31">chapter 31</external-xref> of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking the item relating to section 504 and inserting the following:</text><quoted-block style="USC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H03DCB2B90B884CE4963E673492EA8263"><toc regeneration="no-regeneration"><toc-entry level="section">504. Persons not qualified; citizenship or
 residency requirements; exceptions.</toc-entry></toc><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection></section><section id="id6b6c26a41f004c3682b655e82af4e1fa"><enum>3.</enum><header>Military naturalization modernization</header><subsection id="id16ca442639c64c4e90db55202381434c"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Chapter 2 of title III of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1421">8 U.S.C. 1421 et seq.</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="id8bb315f7efc847f980cf7cf93398f5d8"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking section 328 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1439">8 U.S.C. 1439</external-xref>); and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id25fc83aeeecd42df81e1c27de2613712"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in section 329 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1440">8 U.S.C. 1440</external-xref>)—</text><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id3fb570bb40274a4f949ce992f4e30bc3"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by amending the section heading to read as follows: <quote><header-in-text style="OLC" level="section">Naturalization through service in the selected reserve or in active-duty status.</header-in-text></quote>;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="idfb2dced0e03a4f9e803618e114d4668b"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subsection (a)—</text><clause id="id4f43ea8cca1f43a081b51c75967b78c3"><enum>(i)</enum><text>in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking <quote>during either</quote> and all that follows through <quote>foreign force</quote>;</text></clause><clause id="id8e3f7e4fbcc947cf84e2602ea813ed62"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>in paragraph (1)—</text><subclause id="idb98e2baa4ac643da821d8a74d582a8b4"><enum>(I)</enum><text>by striking <quote>America Samoa, or Swains Island</quote> and inserting <quote>American Samoa, Swains Island, or any of the freely associated States (as defined in section 611(b)(1)(C) of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1411">20 U.S.C. 1411(b)(1)(C)</external-xref>)),</quote>; and</text></subclause><subclause id="ida5befec3523e44699431c6e43668b38e"><enum>(II)</enum><text>by striking <quote>he</quote> and inserting <quote>such person</quote>; and</text></subclause></clause><clause id="ide20f8ef983434d2b93c20b4b970de731"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>in paragraph (2), by striking <quote>in an active-duty status, and whether separation from such service was under honorable conditions</quote> and inserting <quote>in accordance with subsection (b)(3)</quote>; and</text></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idadc6f11436934250b74e818317c8021f"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subsection (b)—</text><clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idc2ad19d64b1d4bd19efa6504bad41a32"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (1), by striking <quote>he</quote> and inserting <quote>such person</quote>; and</text></clause><clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id9f64929f241549f9984e283147b842e3"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (3), by striking <quote>in an active-duty status</quote> and all that follows through <quote>foreign force, and</quote> and inserting <quote>in an active status (as defined in section 101(d) of title 10, United States Code), in the Selected Reserve of the Ready Reserve, or on active duty (as defined in such section) and, if separated</quote>.</text></clause></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="idd164e44b65fd49b3b26e8fa1950bee22"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical amendment</header><text>The table of contents for the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1101">8 U.S.C. 1101 et seq.</external-xref>) is amended by striking the items relating to sections 328 and 329 and inserting the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="id4553aa11-bff6-477f-820a-600268c5849b"><toc><toc-entry level="section">Sec. 329.
