        <official-title>To amend the Small Business Act to prohibit certain offices of the Small
            Business Administration from undertaking a reduction in force, and for other
            purposes.</official-title>

            <enum>1.</enum>
            <header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Save Our Staff Act of 2025</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>SOS Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text>
        </section>
        <section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id80fc0297ff5b4804ac938818ae75d1ae">
            <enum>2.</enum>
            <header>Reductions in force at SBA offices</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Small Business Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/631">15 U.S.C. 631 et seq.</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
            <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id13ec93df5002408da9142c1cef9be925">
                <enum>(1)</enum>
 <text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by redesignating section 49 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/631">15 U.S.C. 631</external-xref> note) as section 50; and</text>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idf923dd41f70c41d697d1234970492791">
                <enum>(2)</enum>
 <text>by inserting after section 48 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/657u">15 U.S.C. 657u</external-xref>) the following:</text> <quoted-block id="idEB40AB3A435F459EB4FE8F5A1F78D3C9" style="OLC" act-name=""> <section id="id725AFF6A838D483AB60F932C591D81CF" section-type="subsequent-section"> <enum>49.</enum> <header>Reductions in force</header> <subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id855f9b658a70445fbfa0450c6be3612f"> <enum>(a)</enum> <header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Definition</header> <text>In this section, the term <term>covered office</term> means an office of the Administration that—</text>
                            <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idF27195F2FC314FB8B4D66E61F8221363">
                                <enum>(1)</enum>
 <text display-inline="yes-display-inline">provides counseling, training, or technical assistance to entrepreneurs or owners of small business concerns (or oversees the provision of such counseling, training, or technical assistance);</text>
                            </paragraph>
                            <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id98927DED4C644AEBA2CDCE01C81D3D14">
                                <enum>(2)</enum>
 <text>provides oversight of any lending program of the Administration; </text>
                            </paragraph>
                            <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idcbae48dbde2548f18a7aed295645e715">
                                <enum>(3)</enum>
 <text display-inline="yes-display-inline">carries out any disaster relief program of the Administration; or</text>
                            </paragraph>
                            <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id39c36b41adff446fbd56c8f680028ffd">
                                <enum>(4)</enum>
 <text>provides contracting certifications with respect to small business concerns.</text>
                            </paragraph>
                        </subsection>
                        <subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id8e1945cd48624cdfab1504f4fd124cff">
                            <enum>(b)</enum>
                            <header>Prohibition</header>
 <text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law or regulation, no covered office may, on or after the date of enactment of the <short-title>Save Our Staff Act of 2025</short-title>, undertake a reduction in force with respect to employees of the covered office.</text>
                        </subsection>

            <enum>3.</enum>
            <header>Re-employment of removed SBA employees</header>
            <subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id54094c1c988c4669b6f2043c55c37362">
                <enum>(a)</enum>
                <header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header>
 <text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 60 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the Small Business Administration shall re-employ each employee of the Administration who was removed as part of a reduction in force carried out during the period beginning on January 20, 2025, and ending on the date of enactment of this Act.</text>
            </subsection>
            <subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"
                id="iddffcfb64582f402eaa84b87a4dcae425">
                <enum>(b)</enum>
                <header>Status of re-Employed individuals</header>
 <text>Each individual re-employed under subsection (a) shall—</text> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idb3b8b798b23b4edebe7300f7b036b9e1"> <enum>(1)</enum> <text display-inline="yes-display-inline">be appointed to the same position occupied by the individual, and shall be paid at the same rate of basic pay, as of the date on which the individual was removed, as described in that subsection; and</text>
                </paragraph>
                <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"

                    <enum>(2)</enum>
 <text display-inline="yes-display-inline">receive back pay with respect to the period beginning on the date on which the individual was removed, as described in that subsection, and ending on the date on which the individual is so re-employed.</text>
