                which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSBK00">Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To permit the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency to set
            compensation for executive officers of Federal Home Loan Banks, and for other
 purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Curtailing Unreasonable Remuneration at Banks Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>CURB Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id13565dcbff6a4ea0b5bf6bdec84cd001"><enum>2.</enum><header>Compensation for executive officers of Federal Home Loan Banks</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 7 of the Federal Home Loan Bank Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/1427">12 U.S.C. 1427</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="iddbc73d868ab34446b4abc8546feae016"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the first subsection (l) (relating to withholding of compensation)—</text><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id0a1e67c25db2446daa55a3d714a34828"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in the subsection heading, by striking <quote><header-in-text style="OLC" level="subsection">Withholding of compensation</header-in-text></quote> and inserting <quote><header-in-text style="OLC" level="subsection">Compensation of executive officers</header-in-text></quote>;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id864def736614470b85784d8c044944d8"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>Notwithstanding</quote> and inserting the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idf0e690962d2447ef90aca871ba76def3"><paragraph id="id9016069092f54ce682722fe2cb9ffad4"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Withholding of compensation</header><text>Notwithstanding</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id31b3bce72f5348d58aaa277ddeaaba99"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id4806a0502e0f4060846f4b690cf89b64"><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6ee95148c003444b84ad032cf45b4713"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Setting compensation</header><text>Notwithstanding section 1318(d) of the Federal Housing Enterprises Financial Safety and Soundness Act of 1992 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/4518">12 U.S.C. 4518(d)</external-xref>), the Director may establish compensation for any executive officer of a Federal Home Loan Bank that is reasonable and comparable in accordance with regulations promulgated by the Director.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id065b3ac618ec49a1ae45f4a4838ad3a6"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the second subsection (l) (relating to the transition rule).</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
