        <official-title>To amend title 18, United States Code, to establish a criminal prohibition
            on the public release of the name of a Federal law enforcement officer with the intent
            to obstruct a criminal investigation or immigration enforcement

            <header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protecting Law Enforcement from Doxxing Act</short-title></quote>.</text>

            <enum>2.</enum>
            <header>Prohibition on public release of name of Federal law enforcement
                officer</header>
            <subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idafcfd88fce6a40a5ab812a52d6e38271">
                <enum>(a)</enum>
                <header>In general</header>
 <text>Section 1510 of title 18, United States Code, is amended—</text> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6204254607674faca85308b79ba9cd2c"> <enum>(1)</enum> <text>in the heading, by inserting <quote><header-in-text style="USC" level="section">and immigration enforcement operations</header-in-text></quote> after <quote><header-in-text style="USC" level="section">criminal investigations</header-in-text></quote>; and</text>
                </paragraph>

                    <enum>(2)</enum>
 <text>by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id9c5dd92202e048e6a833951b31486b44"> <subsection id="id5a1bb28176ba40e7819bbd1a8db5906d"> <enum>(f)</enum> <header>Releasing name of Federal law enforcement officer</header> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id716e6e69ea66406fa849efb3e5b293f9"> <enum>(1)</enum> <header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Definition</header> <text>In this section, the term <term>Federal law enforcement officer</term> means any officer, agent, or employee of the United States authorized by law or by a Government agency to engage in or supervise the prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of any violation of Federal criminal law or immigration law.</text>
                            </paragraph>

                                <enum>(2)</enum>
                                <header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Offense</header>
 <text>It shall be unlawful to make the name of a Federal law enforcement officer publicly available with the intent to obstruct a criminal investigation or immigration enforcement operation.</text>
                            </paragraph>

                                <enum>(3)</enum>
                                <header>Penalty</header>
 <text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any person who violates paragraph (2) shall be fined under this title, imprisoned for not more than 5 years, or both.</text>

                    <header>Table of sections</header>
 <text>The table of sections for <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/18/73">chapter 73</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking the item relating to section 1510 and inserting the following:</text>

                        <enum>(A)</enum>
 <text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1961(1) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by inserting after <quote>section 1510 (relating to obstruction of criminal investigations</quote> the following: <quote>and immigration enforcement operations</quote>.</text>
                    </subparagraph>
                    <subparagraph id="id396b8c2a3bf5449987c03ade3854b473">
                        <enum>(B)</enum>
 <text>Section 2516(1)(c) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by inserting after <quote>section 1510 (obstruction of criminal investigations</quote> the following: <quote>and immigration enforcement operations</quote>.</text>
                    </subparagraph>
                    <subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id62f71e7a9beb4993a0fb9ae8a76f86d6">
                        <enum>(C)</enum>
 <text>Section 3142(h)(2)(C) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by inserting after <quote>1510 (relating to obstruction of criminal investigations</quote> the following: <quote>and immigration enforcement operations</quote>.</text>
                    </subparagraph>
                </paragraph>
