        <legis-type>A BILL</legis-type>
        <official-title>To amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to reinstate the authority of the
            Secretary of Education to make Federal Direct Stafford Loans to graduate and
            professional students.</official-title>

            <enum>1.</enum>
            <header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protecting Our Students by Terminating Graduate Rates that Add to Debt Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>POST GRAD Act</short-title></quote>.</text>

            <enum>2.</enum>
            <header>Reinstatement of authority to make Federal Direct Stafford Loans to graduate and
                professional students</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 455(a)(3) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1087e">20 U.S.C. 1087e(a)(3)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
            <paragraph id="HA153D7FC197341BF9A85092A6CA50973">
                <enum>(1)</enum>
 <text>in the paragraph heading, by inserting <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Temporary</header-in-text></quote> before <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Termination</header-in-text></quote>; and</text>
            </paragraph>

                <enum>(2)</enum>
 <text>in subparagraph (A), in the matter preceding clause (i), by inserting <quote>, and ending on or before June 30, 2023</quote> after <quote>2012</quote>.</text>

            <enum>3.</enum>
            <header>Inapplicability of rulemaking requirements</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">The amendments made by this Act shall not be subject to the requirements of section 482(c) or 492 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1089">20 U.S.C. 1089(c)</external-xref>; 1098a).</text>
