<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1892</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20250522">May 22, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S288">Ms. Murkowski</sponsor> (for herself, <cosponsor name-id="S253">Mr. Durbin</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S412">Mr. Tuberville</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S229">Mrs. Murray</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S347">Mr. Moran</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S324">Mrs. Shaheen</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To clarify that amounts from declinations should be deposited in the Crime Victims Fund and to temporarily provide additional deposits into the Crime Victims Fund.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="H889E948CFEC942EA89F76D63B8A26E5E"><section section-type="section-one" id="H650C5483799B4F37906695541F1C579D"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act of 2025</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H7AF1E62979FD4F60A9AC8274534918F5"><enum>2.</enum><header>Deposits in Crime Victims Fund</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1402(b)(6) of the Victims of Crime Act of 1984 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/34/20101">34 U.S.C. 20101(b)(6)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H0DCD310E27D24FAABC5378BCBD096CBC"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>or</quote> at the end;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H2054E7975BEE4C1FB2A5566D88049283"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H7AA0F23414D548FFBF697EF8B6259F01"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following: </text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H96C6A1A6630B47628487B87312FBA303"><subparagraph id="HE0C847000FD847BBBE10B2A5363EDE87"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a declination of a criminal prosecution or other similar final disposition not involving a conviction; or</text></subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id27b6bc93bd59417ea1ec86b3463c3cee"><enum>(D)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">during the period beginning on the date of enactment of this subparagraph and ending on September 30, 2030, sections 3729 through 3731 of title 31, United States Code (commonly known as the ‘False Claims Act’), except that—</text><clause id="H1CA3200F02F14ECFA6F6B7A6E30945B5"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">amounts necessary to remunerate qui tam plaintiffs as described in subsection (d) of section 3730 of title 31, United States Code, are not available for deposit to the Fund; and</text></clause><clause id="H199C1EFAD89644F7BAA93A7ABAF28C43"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>amounts necessary to reimburse the United States Government for the damages which the Government sustains from an act described in subsection (a) of section 3729 of title 31, United States Code, are not available for deposit to the Fund.</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
