            <header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Mission to Modernize Astronautic Resources for Space</short-title></quote> or <quote><short-title>Mission to MARS Act</short-title></quote>.</text>

            <enum>2.</enum>
            <header>Human spaceflight infrastructure and commercialization of space support at
                Johnson Space Center</header>
            <subsection id="id3bbdd676247e47928176cd07b66cc61f">
                <enum>(a)</enum>
                <header>Appropriations</header>
 <text>In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is appropriated to the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (referred to in this section as the <quote>Administrator</quote>), out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $1,000,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2034, to carry out at the Johnson Space Center the following projects:</text>

                    <enum>(1)</enum>
 <text>Preparation of the Neutral Buoyancy Lab for commercial space station training, lunar-suited operations, and collaborations with the Department of Defense, and general building repairs and maintenance.</text>
                </paragraph>

                    <enum>(2)</enum>
 <text>Upgrades and repairs to the Astromaterials Curation and Research facility for samples from the Moon and Mars.</text>
                </paragraph>

                    <enum>(3)</enum>
 <text>Modernization of the Mission Control Center and preparation for crewed missions beyond low-Earth orbit, repair or replacement of utilities, and all general building repairs and maintenance.</text>
                </paragraph>

                    <enum>(4)</enum>
 <text>Upgrades and repairs to Ellington Field astronaut flight training facilities.</text>
                </paragraph>

 <text>Electrical substation switchgear upgrades.</text> </paragraph> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id29a951d4a99d418ba7d0e389142ba853"> <enum>(6)</enum> <text>Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning and mechanical systems renewal for tier 1 and tier 2 facilities.</text>
                </paragraph>

                    <enum>(7)</enum>
 <text>Replacement of steam chillers in building 24 (combined heat and power plant).</text>
                </paragraph>

                    <enum>(8)</enum>
 <text>Deferred maintenance on fire alarm components and panels.</text> </paragraph> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ide8dd041d3af2495ca32411530675739d"> <enum>(9)</enum> <text>Foundation repairs.</text>
                </paragraph>

                    <enum>(10)</enum>
 <text>Full modernization and construction of the space food systems laboratory.</text>
                </paragraph>

                    <enum>(11)</enum>
 <text>Asbestos mitigation.</text> </paragraph> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id3ac4b711edcd442dbf42ec34ca236ca0"> <enum>(12)</enum> <text>Upgrades to the space environment simulation laboratory located in chambers A and B in building 32.</text>
                </paragraph>

                </paragraph>

 <text>Repair and refurbishment of astronaut training aircraft.</text> </paragraph> <paragraph id="id075266b131684db7ad00088e1dd3eb13"> <enum>(18)</enum> <text>Repair, refurbishment, or replacement of large volume cargo transportation aircraft.</text>
                </paragraph>
            </subsection>
            <subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idf4030985d12d4fda9e900a333c29171e">
                <enum>(b)</enum>
                <header>Remaining funds</header>
 <text>Any funds remaining after the projects described in subsection (a) are completed shall be used to upgrade facilities or infrastructure that would enable the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and commercial entities to develop advanced spacesuits, hardware, food systems, vacuum chambers, and simulations to train for missions to low-Earth orbit, the Moon, and Mars, as determined by the Administrator.</text>
            </subsection>
