<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1469</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20250410">April 10, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S253">Mr. Durbin</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S357">Mrs. Fischer</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSAF00">Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 to include food allergy information in existing training modules for local food service personnel.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section id="id7c87702dc7674ed7b56dae7d361e3bba" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protecting Children with Food Allergies Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="idFB53F081CBF843609168E083FAA201B0"><enum>2.</enum><header>Including food allergy information in existing training modules for local food service personnel</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id859555105e624165980e4f435eaa87e2"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Food allergy training module</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 7(g)(2)(B)(iii) of the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1776">42 U.S.C. 1776(g)(2)(B)(iii)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idc8946c06c87345c4a9bd719575068259"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by redesignating subclauses (II) and (III) as subclauses (III) and (IV), respectively; and</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id43e1e7bd834547328adf0a0431960039"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by inserting after subclause (I) the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idDE0323B5A1D846BEA6AB0A83DA7B40DB"><subclause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id828c6f168eb046729a6ba4f3f6ca2e3a"><enum>(II)</enum><text>food allergies, including information on the best practices to prevent, recognize, and respond to food-related allergic reactions;</text></subclause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="idfc5ec9a97b50461f959f352439095619"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Certification</header><text>Section 7(g)(2)(B)(ii)(II) of the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1776">42 U.S.C. 1776(g)(B)(ii)(II)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>clause (i)</quote> and inserting <quote>clauses (i) and (iii)</quote>.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
