<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1358</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20250408">April 8, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S404">Mr. Scott of Florida</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S396">Mrs. Blackburn</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S373">Mr. Cassidy</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSBK00">Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To require the Securities and Exchange Commission to require reporting of sourcing and due diligence activities of companies involving supply chains of products that are imported into the United States that are directly linked to products utilizing forced labor from Xinjiang, China, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section section-type="section-one" id="S1"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Transaction and Sourcing Knowledge Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>TASK Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="id358C7F744F9647B9A0B7915686007CD8"><enum>2.</enum><header>SEC reporting</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Securities and Exchange Commission, as part of its evaluation of potential guidance on reporting on environmental, social, and governance matters by publicly traded companies, shall require reporting of—</text><paragraph id="id9AC2C8FBEE9E44F180C6E0917A391B55"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">sourcing and due diligence activities of such companies involving supply chains of products that are imported into the United States that are directly linked to products utilizing forced labor from Xinjiang, China; </text></paragraph><paragraph id="idf5c31ee0540e465fb3ac156c599ec361"><enum>(2)</enum><text>transactions with companies that have been—</text><subparagraph id="idB92EDF753D464BFBA2D81291BC95A121"><enum>(A)</enum><text>placed on the Entity List by the Department of Commerce; or</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="idDC57833806264F35A60177E91F4263EA"><enum>(B)</enum><text>designated by the Department of the Treasury as Chinese Military-Industrial Complex Companies; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="id72454C952D7241DBA119CE6D076E9536"><enum>(3)</enum><text>with respect to publicly traded United States companies with facilities in China, on an annual basis—</text><subparagraph id="idD2EE4947A89546DDA3544C3F623B5B04"><enum>(A)</enum><text>whether there is a Chinese Communist Party committee in the operations of the company; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="idC2A012FAE0FE4188BD800AA2CD2EB58F"><enum>(B)</enum><text>a summary of the actions and corporate decisions in which any committee described in subparagraph (A) may have participated. </text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
