<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1112</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20250325">March 25, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S287">Mr. Cornyn</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S409">Mr. Luján</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To adjust the boundary of Big Bend National Park in the State of Texas, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="H5102ED20E944409CAEEC0763AEA38A00"><section section-type="section-one" id="H4F52CF4E4A594DECAE6A479FA1D393B9"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Big Bend National Park Boundary Adjustment Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="H94211F9DCBBD4471B40C814B9C9FE81F"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text><paragraph id="HE7EBF39AAEFD47BBA318C425C1D81D14"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Map</header><text>The term <quote>map</quote> means the map entitled <quote>Big Bend National Park, Proposed Boundary Adjustment</quote>, numbered 155/167,296, and dated November 2022.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HBC2F2D6445B9468CBB200FB8602EFEBF"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Park</header><text>The term <quote>Park</quote> means the Big Bend National Park established under the Act of June 20, 1935 (49 Stat. 393, chapter 283; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/156">16 U.S.C. 156</external-xref>).</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H109EADDB9FBE4AEC9368F4F7507E5A65"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The term <quote>Secretary</quote> means the Secretary of the Interior.</text></paragraph></section><section id="H10193AE63DAF4738AB8E0213C6A83BAC"><enum>3.</enum><header>Big Bend National Park Boundary Adjustment</header><subsection id="H2373AFFB280E41BEA41781D089B09FBE"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Land acquisition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary may acquire approximately 6,100 acres of land or interests in land generally depicted on the map as <quote>Tracts to Include in Boundary</quote> by donation or exchange.</text></subsection><subsection id="HB62E973DC68444CA85FE3E76F2692CBA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Availability of map</header><text>The map shall be on file and available for public inspection in the appropriate offices of the National Park Service.</text></subsection><subsection id="H4087F9D4658B4649B488D9F85F957BD8"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Boundary revision and administration</header><text>On acquisition of any land or interests in land under subsection (a), the Secretary shall—</text><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6603e56c8ff7495185e1d53fa87a04da"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">revise the boundary of the Park to include the acquired land or interests in land; and</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idd43d1e4fad3d452cafbd96ba804a0cca"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">administer the acquired land or interests in land as part of the Park in accordance with applicable laws (including regulations).</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H5D0E884C070D49C29B7C263D01B8D3A1"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Eminent domain or condemnation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In carrying out this Act, the Secretary may not use eminent domain or condemnation.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
