<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>119th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1081</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20250314">March 14, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S355">Mr. Cruz</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S386">Ms. Duckworth</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSCM00">Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To require the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to submit certain reports to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the House of Representatives, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Comprehensive NASA Reporting Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id075d1639c1314877989e4ee1fef7824b"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text><paragraph id="ida7d2431b90f94ac2a4d4b173048ff90e"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Administrator</header><text>The term <term>Administrator</term> means the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idca4cd49eec724bd1a43531b834ec74b4"><enum>(2)</enum><header>NASA</header><text>The term <term>NASA</term> means the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.</text></paragraph></section><section id="idb1987ddf946f4767b2aeb2f07e97d726"><enum>3.</enum><header>Reports to Congress</header><subsection id="id20b0d3e11f8143619a3bee3c6cea7b09"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Congressional reports and notices</header><text>Any report or notice provided to Congress by NASA shall be provided to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the House of Representatives, concurrently with its delivery to any other committee or office.</text></subsection><subsection id="idf925328f0e1048488f9caddb03cfe4f0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Privileged reports and reprogramming requests</header><text>Nonpublic reports, including privileged reports, reprogramming requests, and spend plans provided to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the House of Representatives pursuant to subsection (a) shall be treated as confidential committee documents and shall not to be disclosed publicly.</text></subsection><subsection id="ide1299dfe8bb94bcbb223424c39407264"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Reports on international agreements</header><text>If the United States becomes a signatory to an international agreement or nonbinding instrument concerning activities in outer space involving NASA, the Administrator shall, not later than 15 days after the date on which the United States becomes a signatory, submit to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology and the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives a report containing a copy of such agreement or instrument. </text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
