RES. 327</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250410">April 10, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="H001066">Mr. Horsford</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="N000015">Mr. Neal</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="D000399">Mr. Doggett</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="T000460">Mr. Thompson of California</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000557">Mr. Larson of Connecticut</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="D000096">Mr. Davis of Illinois</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S001156">Ms. Sánchez</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S001185">Ms. Sewell</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="D000617">Ms. DelBene</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="C001080">Ms. Chu</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001160">Ms. Moore of Wisconsin</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001296">Mr. Boyle of Pennsylvania</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001292">Mr. Beyer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="E000296">Mr. Evans of Pennsylvania</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S001190">Mr. Schneider</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="P000613">Mr. Panetta</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000585">Mr. Gomez</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="P000610">Ms. Plaskett</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S001201">Mr. Suozzi</cosponsor>) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HWM00">Committee on Ways and Means</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Of inquiry requesting the President of the United States to furnish certain information to the House of Representatives relating to the operations of the Social Security Administration after March 12, 2025, including information on the Department of Government Efficiency’s access to the Social Security Administration and to information in the possession of such Administration.</official-title></form><resolution-body style="traditional" id="H518EB84B9FD742CE99065492765F590D"><section display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section" id="H46D9636289394BAA9EF0B0F0FE64DCC0"><enum/><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That the President is requested to furnish the House of Representatives, not later than 14 days after the date of adoption of this resolution, copies of any document, record, audio recording, memorandum, call log, correspondence (electronic or otherwise), audit trails and audit logs, written agreements, or other communication in his possession, or any portion of any document, record, audio recording, memorandum, call log, correspondence (electronic or otherwise), or other communication, that refers or relates to the following, including analysis of the effects on the public’s ability to access Social Security Administration services and benefits: </text><paragraph id="H52325B98F4B44D1CBF6DA90548F29315"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Policies announced by the Social Security Administration on March 18, 2025, and March 26, 2025, that will end the ability of seniors, survivors, spouses and children to complete an application for Social Security benefits by phone, instead requiring those who cannot file their claim online to visit a local Social Security office to validate their identity.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H0CBA87EB9231417D8E1AE3BBC2948129"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Closure or consolidation of Social Security Administration field offices, card centers, and hearing offices after March 12, 2025.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H562E3493416E486A87CD703787E2D3B3"><enum>(3)</enum><text>Staffing reductions at the Social Security Administration after March 12, 2025, including reduction in force actions pursuant to sections 3501 through 3504 of title 5, United States Code, and part 351 of title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations.</text></paragraph></section></resolution-body></resolution>
