<official-title display="yes">To Amend title 38, United States Code, to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to disapprove courses of education offered by a public institution of higher learning that does not charge the in-State tuition rate to a veteran using certain educational assistance under title 10 of such Code, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="H9302B98D30384399A191592A498B9A45" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserves Tuition Fairness Act of 2025</short-title></quote>. </text></section> <section id="HF2B50C6A862147A1A8C28F9FA15AF6AB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Department of Veterans Affairs disapproval of courses offered by public institutions of higher learning that do not charge veterans in-state tuition rate for purposes of selected reserve educational assistance program</header> <subsection id="HEF1B6E26C55B4E9C9D6C3AE4BD13FF8F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Subsection (c) of section 3679 of title 38, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H503B2030FA07455880B078DB98B80BCF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by inserting <quote>, or <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/10/1606">chapter 1606</external-xref> of title 10,</quote> after <quote>chapter 30, 31, 33, or 35 of this title</quote>;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HAC0A373C85C74220AEE05016C4386EAB"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (2), by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:</text>

<subparagraph id="H570ACAA24140440691756AD6A5F2878B" indent="up1"><enum>(E)</enum><text>An individual who is entitled to assistance under section 16131 of title 10.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph> <paragraph id="H802B575DC25C444AA6355057BF5B5AF0"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in paragraph (6), by inserting <quote>, or <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/10/1606">chapter 1606</external-xref> of title 10</quote> before the period at the end.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H86529110263E4268A1BA5AD14D16AB4C"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendments</header><text>Subsection (e) of such section is amended—</text> <paragraph id="H53A06B7CB3D843A48EAF6D30FEE555D0"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1)—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H7E34C6965B6040F7BEC5C87DF5A9ACC9"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by inserting <quote>, or <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/10/1606">chapter 1606</external-xref> of title 10,</quote> after <quote>chapter 31, 33, or 35 of this title</quote>; and</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H1384581B516E4AABB0E0ADDD07AC8197"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by striking <quote>chapter 31 33, or 35 of this title</quote> and inserting <quote>chapter 31, 33, or 35 of this title, or <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/10/1606">chapter 1606</external-xref> of title 10</quote>; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H9B9898A09B3A4A01A54AA1E23DF1B911"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (2), by striking <quote>chapter 31 33, or 35 of this title</quote> and inserting <quote>chapter 31, 33, or 35 of this title, or <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/10/1606">chapter 1606</external-xref> of title 10</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="H9FDDF1BA59684F34B8C82FB8472AF8AD"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act and shall apply with respect to an academic period that begins on or after August 1, 2026.</text></subsection></section>
