<section id="H1B389D1F12F74AB9855120EA715C98CE" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protecting the Dignity of Unborn Children Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H3B58CCDF432746278E342DEE4D3D1B48"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibiting unlawful disposal of fetal remains</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Part I of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<chapter id="HE7265B73A9B44BE18931350ECFFED9F4"><enum>125</enum><header>Unlawful Disposal of Fetal Remains</header>
<section id="HC981778CEFF140F7AC7298C0D10C532F"><enum>2741.</enum><header>Unlawful disposal of fetal remains</header>
<subsection id="H4E866FE1F8D44AF59A8C7094BB61B0CD"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Whoever recklessly disposes of or abandons fetal remains in a landfill or in any of the navigable waters of the United States shall be imprisoned not more than 3 years or fined under this title, or both.</text></subsection> <subsection id="H6E88A7CEB7D94D879C2C42367BB79A77"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Rule of construction</header><text>Nothing in this section shall be construed to authorize the prosecution of any woman for the disposal of the remains of her unborn child.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H2B08CD7FA7354DDD8EE6802703CD399B"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section:</text> <paragraph id="H05CCEA6F3D5A410F834DEF70C8AF462A"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Fetal remains</header><text>The term <quote>fetal remains</quote> means any part of a human fetus that is deceased by reason of an abortion, but does not include any such part that has been cremated.</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H3075DBEBC2E548D0BBE852A51C208D5A"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Landfill</header><text>The term <quote>landfill</quote> means a sanitary landfill, as such term is defined in section 1004(26) of the Solid Waste Disposal Act.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H37C43C92849B401A818F563D905C2D31"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Navigable waters</header><text>The term <quote>navigable waters</quote> has the meaning given such term in section 502(7) of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></chapter><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
