R. 658</legis-num><associated-doc role="report" display="yes">[Report No. 119–99]</associated-doc><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250123">January 23, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B001285">Ms. Brownley</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HVR00">Committee on Veterans' Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250517">May 17, 2025</action-date><action-desc>Additional sponsor: <cosponsor name-id="J000288">Mr. Johnson of Georgia</cosponsor></action-desc></action><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250517">May 17, 2025</action-date><action-desc>Committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union and ordered to be printed<pagebreak></pagebreak></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title 38, United States Code, to establish qualifications for the appointment of a person as a marriage and family therapist, qualified to provide clinical supervision, in the Veterans Health Administration.<pagebreak></pagebreak></official-title></form><legis-body id="H247F6F337B8A40C9A0178BF5A08BE8FA" style="OLC"><section id="HCA58C7978FD341529B87F925DEDBB573" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Establishment of qualifications for the appointment of a person as a marriage and family therapist, qualified to provide clinical supervision, in the Veterans Health Administration</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 7402(b)(10) of title 38, United States Code, is amended—</text><paragraph id="HA2CB6CAD70664A38BEE59F83C8DBF1EC"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraphs (A) and (B) as clauses (i) and (ii), respectively;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HA764E1F94CB4460288CFF2FE0040BA2E"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting <quote><header-in-text level="subparagraph" style="USC">(A)</header-in-text></quote> before <quote>To be eligible</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H1926CAE5887F4919929B16CB7946F2BE"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new subparagraph (B):</text><quoted-block style="USC" id="HB15EDC6FBCD14F8D9C7CC316F913AB40" display-inline="no-display-inline"><subparagraph id="H3EF5B779D6F649F4A455D03E0A2101D3" indent="up2"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">To be eligible to be appointed to a marriage and family therapist position and qualified to provide clinical supervision, a person must—</text><clause id="HEEA8333C715C4136A8C7119CA77B95C2"><enum>(i)</enum><text>have the qualifications set forth in subparagraph (A); and</text></clause><clause id="HFEB71F4EA8FC4339BBCF9E330B020339"><enum>(ii)</enum><subclause commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H3D0712CD6FAA409F9C1099B101D84FE0"><enum>(I)</enum><text>be authorized to provide clinical supervision in the State described in clause (ii) of such subparagraph; or</text></subclause><subclause id="H569D44BA0BE94C93974F5BE92F8A24DB" indent="up1"><enum>(II)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">be designated as an approved supervisor by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.</text></subclause></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body><endorsement display="yes"><action-date date="20250517">May 17, 2025</action-date><action-desc>Committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union and ordered to be printed</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
