<section id="H65191401490A4632AD8DBFDDAF03A732" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>TRICARE Transition Transparency Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H37D2B15A3DF345D796BBCB0CECFA7F1D" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Notification to TRICARE beneficiaries of coverage transition requirements</header> <text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/10/55">Chapter 55</external-xref> of title 10, United States Code, is amended by inserting after <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/10/1097d">section 1097d</external-xref> the following:</text>

<section id="HB699070E859D4E93984C44ECCD6661C1"><enum>1097e.</enum><header>TRICARE program: notice of coverage transition requirements</header> 
<subsection id="H5D5F563CE18B41FB8A3606DC0B2BD29D" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Provision of notice</header> 
<paragraph id="H2F66EEC35AAD4A1BA3CE991BF6587933" display-inline="yes-display-inline"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall provide each covered beneficiary with notices of a TRICARE coverage transition requirement that affects the individual.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H87326FC9066A4F8ABAF9A3DD5AFFBCCC" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The Secretary shall provide notice under paragraph (1) through electronic means.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="HE38DE6750F1E462EAC402C0963186323"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Timing of notice</header><text>The Secretary shall provide notices to a covered beneficiary under subsection (a)(1) as follows:</text> <paragraph id="HF43A224A77544528B0C94DF9F52E2EC4"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">On the date that is one year before the covered beneficiary will experience a TRICARE coverage transition requirement.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HA19788B6A01444B089971820B675A08A"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">On the date that is 180 days before the covered beneficiary will experience a TRICARE coverage transition requirement.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HBB4611459269459999A6569F49FA27C0"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">On the date that is 30 days before the covered beneficiary will experience a TRICARE coverage transition requirement.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="HBB0CE9D58A0C4E0FB0C2E46A3D3F719E"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Outreach</header><text>The Secretary shall conduct an outreach and public awareness campaign to inform covered beneficiaries of TRICARE coverage transition requirements, including through the TRICARE internet website, social media, and through family readiness groups.</text></subsection> <subsection id="H4DE2BFEC7A0C44B3A4C8E3D9492D4F80"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Reports</header><text>On an annual basis the Secretary shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the implementation of this section, including metrics relating to the outreach and public awareness campaign under subsection (c) and any recommendations to improve making covered beneficiaries aware of TRICARE coverage transition requirements.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HDDCFC20752DF48DFB3AEF10288FDCA0E"><enum>(e)</enum><header>TRICARE coverage transition requirement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the term <quote>TRICARE coverage transition requirement</quote> means a requirement under this chapter for a covered beneficiary to make a different election under the TRICARE program to continue enrollment in the TRICARE program, including by reason of attaining a certain age as described in section 1086(d) or 1110b of this title.</text></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section> </legis-body></bill>
