<section id="H66FA13CD5EF249A4940056D0CEF5F80A" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Northern Border Security Enhancement and Review Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HD15468DFEDE14E91BFC63A9C75CE4803" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Northern border threat analysis and strategy</header> <subsection id="HE9FACCDC65F8446E982440256C40B4D8" commented="no"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Northern border threat analysis</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section (a) of the Northern Border Security Review Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/114/267">Public Law 114–267</external-xref>) is amended, the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking <quote>180 days after the date of enactment of this Act</quote> and inserting <quote>September 2, 2026, and biennially thereafter</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HE3E9CEE7E3C940CCB47537E81E04292F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Northern border strategy updates</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Northern Border Security Review Act is amended by—</text> <paragraph id="H2EB92377EEFF45D6ADC5D165718949DD"><enum>(1)</enum><text>redesignating subsection (c) as subsection (d); and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H6F8C07C7390448998CEE5970DC14AD57"><enum>(2)</enum><text>inserting after subsection (b) the following new subsection:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" id="H6E2E09B986E040A48F9093D86A053CC9" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <subsection id="H97286E9F33B047E98BCA0A54723C9BC2" commented="no"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Northern border strategy updates</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 90 days after each submission of the threat analysis required under subsection (a), the Secretary of Homeland Security shall update the Department of Homeland Security’s northern border strategy. If the Secretary determines no such update is required, the Secretary shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a notification relating thereto.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H3FE51CDD4D1245A09F0C02C1862BFD1B"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Classified briefings</header><text>The Northern Border Security Review Act, as amended by subsection (b), is further amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" id="H7A4D343E125B434CBE906A1AD2F6C760" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <subsection id="HCC1494E095BE4409BA787759344E6205" commented="no"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Classified briefings</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 30 days after each submission of the threat analysis required under subsection (a), the Secretary of Homeland Security shall provide to the appropriate congressional committees a classified briefing regarding such analysis.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H3B482ECF721C4C398FE7BE69B546B146"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Implementation of certain GAO recommendations</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than six months after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security, acting through the Executive Assistant Commissioner of Air and Marine Operations (AMO) of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, shall develop performance measures to assess the effectiveness of AMO at securing the northern border between ports of entry in the air and maritime environments.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
