<section id="H6DD34BE027104E6EAED023F205D4CE17" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protect Our Farmers and Families Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HDA8F4BD23C304564A72A2CFE11903F90"><enum>2.</enum><header>Cancellation of registration of diquat</header> <subsection id="HADF57F9789FC47B1BAE0823EA029EF51"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Pursuant to section 6(b) of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/7/136d">7 U.S.C. 136d(b)</external-xref>), effective on the date of enactment of this Act—</text> 
<paragraph id="H490D37FFBA454BC7BD3F4A6B129CF8BA"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">diquat shall be deemed to generally cause unreasonable adverse effects on the environment (as defined by section 2 of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/7/136">7 U.S.C. 136</external-xref>));</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H4FDDCFCC4D9F4487B77977C31099C537"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency shall cancel the registration of all uses of diquat; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H4BA71329007F4780A40D9B040958E7B8"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">following such cancellation, the Administrator shall, in accordance with section 408(l)(2) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/21/346a">21 U.S.C. 346a(l)(2)</external-xref>), revoke any tolerance or exemption that allows the presence of diquat, or any pesticide chemical residue that results from diquat use, in or on food.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="H2057BD0547CA42C5A9ADE1919C3C9443"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Sale and use of existing stocks prohibited</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding section 6(a) of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/7/136d">7 U.S.C. 136d(a)</external-xref>), effective on the date of enactment of this Act, the continued sale and use of existing stocks of diquat shall be prohibited.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H398A70AF28A945A4B627FCE6E80325C5"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Reregistration prohibited</header><text>Effective on the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency may not reregister diquat under section 4 of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/7/136a-1">7 U.S.C. 136a–1</external-xref>).</text> </subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
