id="H5DE45A1D2DA046B182193A513C04A403"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Filing Relief for Natural Disasters Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="HB19FD404C8484AEAAB960ED61B9C6C59"><enum>2.</enum><header>Modification of rules for postponing certain deadlines by reason of disaster</header><subsection id="H51AD7E927BFC4E7D9BF4E3BA76F66590"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Authority To postpone Federal tax deadlines by reason of State-Declared disasters</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/7508A">Section 7508A</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended by redesignating subsections (c), (d), and (e) as subsections (d), (e), and (f), respectively, and by inserting after subsection (b) the following new subsection:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H54D493872AE147318CC47BAB6045C196" changed="added" reported-display-style="italic" committee-id="HWM00"><subsection id="H250E8722F75E45EABDAD005E9F74B097"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Special rule for State-Declared disasters</header><paragraph id="H43BB3C59012A42EFB7A16BA86E76AD2A"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary (after consultation with the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency) may, upon the written request of the Governor of a State (or the Mayor, in the case of the District of Columbia), apply the rules of subsections (a) and (b) to a qualified State declared disaster in the same manner as a disaster, fire, or action otherwise described in subsection (a).</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H59D4C20D756A4D71A956E795E92FB1B9"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Qualified State declared disaster</header><text>For purposes of this section, the term <term>qualified State declared disaster</term> means, with respect to any State, any natural catastrophe (including any hurricane, tornado, storm, high water, winddriven water, tidal wave, tsunami, earthquake, volcanic eruption, landslide, mudslide, snowstorm, or drought), or, regardless of cause, any fire, flood, or explosion, in any part of the State, which in the determination of the Governor of such State (or the Mayor, in the case of the District of Columbia) causes damage of sufficient severity and magnitude to warrant the application of the rules of this section.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HE229FE6EAF684094A05B98BD438466B1"><enum>(3)</enum><header>State</header><text>For purposes of this section, the term <term>State</term> includes the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection id="H139F2F464247432B8D362DE6DAE7E897"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Mandatory extensions extended to 120 days</header><text>Section 7508A(e) of such Code, as redesignated by subsection (a), is amended—</text><paragraph id="H23A243C72C80464F9EC59F9B51198746"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>60 days</quote> in paragraph (1)(B) thereof and inserting <quote>120 days</quote>,</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H3E666D5200CF4F32A1EDF9636677AC08"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>60-day</quote> in paragraph (6) thereof and inserting <quote>120-day</quote>, and </text></paragraph><paragraph id="HECA5B155C1A74C649BA3B50745B73EA6"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by striking <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC"><enum-in-header>60</enum-in-header>-day</header-in-text></quote> in the heading and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC"><enum-in-header>120</enum-in-header>-day</header-in-text></quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HCE7183F6A07448B1B4F7FBB666C39FB1"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to declarations made after the date of the enactment of this
