Official Code) is amended to read as follows:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="HA222187A618E40D59EFE944ED29AEDC6" display-inline="no-display-inline" changed="added" reported-display-style="italic" committee-id="HGO00"><part id="H51AFB7B0CBA844F98FA84F1BD29E4654"><enum>C–i</enum><header>Attorney General </header><section id="H3965E15DA07C4426A07920AAA49C4914"><enum>435.</enum><header>Attorney General for the District of Columbia</header><subsection id="HFBF868D46F004A1392B9103AEBD7EF90"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Appointment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Attorney General for the District of Columbia shall be appointed by the President.</text></subsection><subsection id="H9BF5702C586D430F8FFFA24AFAA117C3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Service</header><text>The Attorney General for the District of Columbia shall serve at the pleasure of the President, and the appointment of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia does not require the advice and consent of the Senate.</text></subsection><subsection id="HA53286DD873946B6BAA3D8604F4C6956"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Term</header><text>The term of office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia shall coincide with the term of office of the President.</text></subsection><subsection id="H05FFB3981D44486CAC2BBEAC8F115F78"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Rule of construction regarding treatment of employees</header><text>Nothing in this section shall be construed to treat an employee of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia who is appointed by the Attorney General for the District of Columbia as a Federal employee for any purpose except as may be specified in law.</text></subsection></section></part><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection id="H525E8355184C4307ACB369E3E928D0D6"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Termination of service of current Attorney General</header><text>The term of service of the individual serving as the Attorney General for the District of Columbia on the day before the date of the enactment of this Act shall terminate on the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section></legis-body><endorsement display="yes"><action-date date="20250930">September 30, 2025</action-date><action-desc>Reported with an amendment, committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union, and ordered to be printed</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
