<section id="HD13D61A4A9A3448D85A5FC791D4DFB5C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Counseling for Career Choice Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H0550A96A950944D0B3EACA56758D43DB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendment</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 4107(a)(3)(A) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/7117">20 U.S.C. 7117(a)(3)(A)</external-xref>) is amended to read as follows:</text>

<subparagraph id="H892F22FC4A0C4F6083EE07EB435164D9"><enum>(A)</enum><text>career guidance and school counseling programs, such as—</text> <clause id="H815F3B1EA38B41BF9048DA4AE045635D"><enum>(i)</enum><text>guidance for school career counseling programs, and school counselors and students who may be interested in such programs;</text></clause>
<clause id="H6240766D8E0D42F9B36E9695BF3D8205"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>identifying and assessing school counseling activities and postsecondary options available within the State, and outside the State as applicable;</text></clause> <clause id="HCD968D97815C4FCA8691E1EFA32D9734" commented="no"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>identifying regional workforce trends in collaboration with entities at the State and regional level with expertise in identifying such trends (such as State boards and local boards (as such terms are defined in section 3 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/3102">29 U.S.C. 3102</external-xref>)), regional economic development organizations, or State employment agencies);</text></clause>
<clause id="H14F9FE2A37A24E6D9D7E5B8AE9B026BE"><enum>(iv)</enum><text>developing and implementing a process and infrastructure for school counselors and school counseling programs to access information regarding the regional workforce trends identified in clause (iii);</text></clause> <clause id="HF09A5F5F604E4AEF88DA5D4E842C6806"><enum>(v)</enum><text>information for school counselors on how to effectively provide students with current and relevant workforce information, financial aid assistance, personal counseling, and academic advising relevant to students’ individual career and postsecondary education goals;</text></clause>
<clause id="HD999040299314E4484E27E1CEFF21187"><enum>(vi)</enum><text>financial literacy and Federal financial aid awareness activities other than the activities described in clause (v);</text></clause> <clause id="H36250B70E3C84782B627B79A005E2474"><enum>(vii)</enum><text>developing and implementing professional development or career development training certification programs for counselors and other educators involved in preparing students for postsecondary opportunities, which may include partnering with an industry association that provides a nationally recognized certification in career development;</text></clause>
<clause id="HDAF9E78C194E4B32BC88899FBBBD78E1"><enum>(viii)</enum><text>establishing, improving, or coordinating postsecondary opportunities for students, which shall include—</text> <subclause id="H867064B28F534562AA0F5A76D55897B1"><enum>(I)</enum><text>individual career planning;</text></subclause>
<subclause id="HEF120D341C144AC382A24A7E8E28A0AC"><enum>(II)</enum><text>personalized learning plans;</text></subclause> <subclause id="H2B6F39F694F24E25A6C04F814F09E3EB"><enum>(III)</enum><text>registered apprenticeships;</text></subclause>
<subclause id="HF3AB0EE55AB4438CB2A6A7229BF8F74C"><enum>(IV)</enum><text>internships;</text></subclause> <subclause id="H3DF4F0610D824AA3AFC747C8556A5D04"><enum>(V)</enum><text>dual enrollment programs;</text></subclause>
<subclause id="H6A6B88B16D174D32B1B966DFBA907297"><enum>(VI)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">programs leading to recognized postsecondary credentials (as defined in section 3 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/3102">29 U.S.C. 3102</external-xref>)), including programs at a secondary school;</text></subclause> <subclause id="H9EB55F34C8EB4874993FF8EC1D9CE79F"><enum>(VII)</enum><text>2-year degree programs; or</text></subclause>
<subclause id="H61384B868613469DACF16F3CDF0B4AE4"><enum>(VIII)</enum><text>4-year degree programs;</text></subclause></clause> <clause id="H8B0604FD86FD4CB49E7A239F5B28B8A2"><enum>(ix)</enum><text>encouraging partnerships with one-stop centers as defined in section 3 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/3102">29 U.S.C. 3102</external-xref>), which may include colocating a one-stop center in a high school, transporting students to local one-stop centers, or having one-stop center career counselors and business liaisons assist school counselors in hosting job fairs, career days, or other such similar tasks;</text></clause>
<clause id="HAA0E7F4112D84AD895FAF7F00C7D831C"><enum>(x)</enum><text>leveraging resources and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, that are being developed to support career development and career counseling activities; and</text></clause> <clause id="H7245276AEEA04FAD8FC5248685FE00BB"><enum>(xi)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">evaluating secondary and postsecondary outcomes for individuals served by school or other career counseling programs;</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
