<section id="HEEECE18605034DC8B0553BD7D3353A68" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Saving the Forest Service's Workforce Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H74730BB9903644B7A162F3FD16B1A66B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reduction in force moratorium at the Forest Service</header> <subsection id="HAA8BCAF341FF457E8E6CABBD61A936DE"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Until on or after the date that full-year appropriations for the Forest Service for fiscal year 2026 have been enacted into law, the Secretary of Agriculture (acting through the Chief of the Forest Service) may not—</text> 
<paragraph id="HFDB716E184964FFAA0798C24079D8050"><enum>(1)</enum><text>initiate or implement any reduction in force at the Forest Service; or</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H256CC079DBCC48F7BF2136B427FCA960"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">conduct an involuntary separation of any employee in the competitive service, any career employee in the excepted service, or any career appointee in the Senior Executive Service of the Forest Service except for cause on charges of misconduct, delinquency, or performance.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H7CDC8F2545BB42489EDCA7B9367AC980" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Application</header><text>For the purposes of carrying out subsection (a)—</text> <paragraph id="HDABC21DB98E3419BAFE7AAC62BFF7778"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the terms <term>competitive service</term>, <term>excepted service</term>, and <term>career appointee</term> have the meanings given those terms in sections 2102, 2103, and 3132(a), respectively, of title 5, United States Code; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H1F6F5D15B01949A3BC62FAE0550E48CF"><enum>(2)</enum><text>such subsection shall be in addition to any other authority with respect to adverse personnel actions, including <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/5/75">chapter 75</external-xref> of title 5, United States Code.</text></paragraph></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
