<section id="H17B9906634E7409B8569A3FFE08DB3CD" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Creating Opportunities to Thrive and Advance Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>COTA Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H55471FBD62384FC5A20606CEB7FA39BF"><enum>2.</enum><header>Career guidance and public awareness for skilled trade programs</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 223(a)(2) of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/3303">29 U.S.C. 3303(a)(2)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
<paragraph id="H212F892E705D4DE9855C73EFD57E6CB8"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraph (M) as subparagraph (O); and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H1A17AFF07BB74BD3B89BC915F6838276"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after subparagraph (L) the following:</text>

<subparagraph id="H5B59251671FC409BB4252BA172AC1BC9"><enum>(M)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Providing guidance on career options in high-skill, high-wage, or in-demand industry sectors or occupations in current or emerging professions (including skilled trades).</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H96F61605E1354A82AAFE47C6D6364994"><enum>(N)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Raising public awareness and conducting public service announcements about career and technical education programs and community-based organizations, including through social media campaigns and other endeavors, focused on programs that prepare students for high-skill, high-wage, or in-demand industry sectors or occupations in current or emerging professions (including skilled trades). </text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section>
