<section id="H680E3D53919248F1B253D097E71A11EB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>District of Columbia National Guard Commanding General Residency Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H1F19606C45A84C67A10E95416C761134" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Requiring Commanding General of the District of Columbia National Guard reside in the District of Columbia</header> <subsection id="HFED54F7CD93E47F8AB83D78B8B002D08"> <enum>(a)</enum> <header>Requirement</header> <text>Section 7 of the Act entitled <quote>An Act to provide for the organization of the militia of the District of Columbia, and for other purposes</quote>, approved March 1, 1889 (sec. 49–301, D.C. Official Code), is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

            <enum>(d)</enum>
 <text>The Commanding General of the District of Columbia National Guard shall reside in the District of Columbia.</text>

<subsection id="H58E7FEFC67414891BFCF466A6C82B49B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the day that is one year after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
