R. 4600</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250722">July 22, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="M000194">Ms. Mace</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HIF00">Committee on Energy and Commerce</committee-name>, and in addition to the Committee on <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">the Judiciary</committee-name>, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Communications Act of 1934 to increase the penalties related to intentional disclosure of nonconsensual intimate visual depictions, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H8300F300F4C5452688A5A14C375C20B0" style="OLC"><section id="H56556FEAA6A84B2CAD914132781D7FCA" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Responding to Exploitation and Sharing of Private Explicit Content and Threats Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>RESPECT Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H60CEA682F35849A599E7E8D5554D2BE1"><enum>2.</enum><header>Increased penalties related to intentional disclosure of nonconsensual intimate visual depictions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 223(h) of the Communications Act of 1934 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/47/223">47 U.S.C. 223(h)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H7D9D3215250948C39BBAA05F846F2A45"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (4)—</text><subparagraph id="HB86074B4903F453ABF63EC47758BDD45"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>2 years</quote> and inserting <quote>5 years</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H8FDD4FFC22EA4C9E89F58732077E78B6"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by striking <quote>3 years</quote> and inserting <quote>10 years</quote>; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H570FC0E82ACE4C3A99C6645CBE4EB502"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (6)(B)—</text><subparagraph id="H2736AD4D9FD74BFA8759A469023DF3F8"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in clause (i), by striking <quote>18 months</quote> and inserting <quote>3 years</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H2D5E0479362F414C8A661DD6E7C5FA38"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in clause (ii), by striking <quote>30 months</quote> and inserting <quote>5 years</quote>.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
