<section id="HCDA4EB1163E5439F812E7ECE02A8BA01" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>District of Columbia Local Juror Non-Discrimination Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HDB2CDDFF52F64C80BD11EED9975A1D17"><enum>2.</enum><header>Exclusion from District of Columbia juries on account of sexual orientation or gender identity prohibited</header> <subsection id="H558E2A77D7CA4A6DB6A1A18DC5626AE7"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibiting discrimination</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 11–1903, District of Columbia Official Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H5E6FBEFC08A94065AD5DB82103217A4D"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>A citizen</quote> and inserting <quote>(a) A citizen</quote>; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H51AB31E28B184069B174E24619053CCD"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

<subsection id="HE372364F81284FA39E2E5FBF4BB9BB21"><enum>(b)</enum><text>In subsection (a), the term <quote>sex</quote>—</text> <paragraph id="H6AE61134A8D74F7F8C9D56713E9BB695"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">includes—</text> 
<subparagraph id="HD407966C720C49DE89D87FA10624EB2E"><enum>(A)</enum><text>a sex stereotype;</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="HCC233D7D44D5414DAFD012B196D0F0B4"><enum>(B)</enum><text>pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H4399707257754AF7A6289AD45E37104F"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">sexual orientation (defined as homosexuality, heterosexuality, or bisexuality) or gender identity; and</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H9CF54BFBA1AA4E07B7815CC7C72A4122"><enum>(D)</enum><text>sex characteristics, including intersex traits; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HCDB99681348B4D5898D2403F8F965C15"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">when used with respect to an individual, includes—</text> <subparagraph id="HA129DE6E116A4754A9D2C0F69AC2E60C"><enum>(A)</enum><text>the sex of another person with whom the individual is associated or has been associated; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HD2A5C15CFBB544E08617C93B5712B789"><enum>(B)</enum><text>a perception or belief, even if inaccurate, concerning the sex of the individual.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="H6EC7FF36228A47F6A9EF7E7A3FF7A625"><enum>(b)</enum><header>No effect on other remedies</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 11–1910(c), District of Columbia Official Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H8480153D257843AF941A8B17ABCCE678"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>(c) The procedures</quote> and inserting <quote>(c)(1) The procedures</quote>; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HF7C58826E60F4605923EB0C6344233A9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text>

<paragraph id="H8848A05DB18C45819C0E936547E4DB71" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>In paragraph (1), the term <quote>sex</quote>—</text> <subparagraph id="H160DA3CCB6CD4DEE93ED4C5C4C786355"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">includes—</text> 
<clause id="H1AC00F9AEB6048E4B2377B412D532678"><enum>(i)</enum><text>a sex stereotype;</text></clause> <clause id="HBB2A4CB1A0A14EA0A047456BEA4C9CF9"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition;</text></clause> 
<clause id="HD1DA01D106AD40DDABE838688FA1B5E7"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>sexual orientation (defined as homosexuality, heterosexuality, or bisexuality) or gender identity; and</text></clause> <clause id="H89CB0BE3AFA842F9BC6E3E2EDA0EA00F"><enum>(iv)</enum><text>sex characteristics, including intersex traits; and</text></clause></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HED0FB67C65DC4D2B924E8D474E6E7EA8"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">when used with respect to an individual, includes—</text> <clause id="H7903607166C740CEB93F392F93A6F6BB"><enum>(i)</enum><text>the sex of another person with whom the individual is associated or has been associated; and</text></clause>
