<section id="H1B978769CA87477784D13AFD7AFFA851" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Medical Research for Our Troops Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H59F31C2405FA467785AAEBDA0AADAFA0" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Restoration of amounts for Defense Health Agency research, development, test, and evaluation</header> <subsection id="HCF9618EC3FFE4124908023FD15E9D0CA"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1407(1) of the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/119/4">Public Law 119–4</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H639FD31708614C318569D029E4A68783"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>$40,395,072,000</quote> and inserting <quote>$41,576,684,000</quote>; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HA19FAFDEC68D419C80E5BEAFE01C81FC"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the 23rd comma and all that follows through the period at the end and inserting a period.</text> </paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H59C5353788474FA29004799753A87056"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect as if included in the enactment of the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/119/4">Public Law 119–4</external-xref>).</text></subsection> <subsection id="HEAD4975C7817472AAFAF99D52DFA4576"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The funds made available for Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs pursuant to section 1407(1) of the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/119/4">Public Law 119–4</external-xref>), as amended by subsection (a), shall be implemented in levels and in a manner consistent with the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/118/47">Public Law 118–47</external-xref>). The Secretary of Defense shall—</text> 
<paragraph id="H8485A1308BE840168CB9875F33768A83"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">ensure that such funds are used to support all research programs, peer-reviewed initiatives, and projects identified in the explanatory statement accompanying the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/118/47">Public Law 118–47</external-xref>); and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H6C057E4983464C9B8137A80498C5C1D0"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">obligate and expend such funds in a manner that preserves program continuity, including adherence to all specified funding allocations and research priorities identified on pages 311 through 314 of such explanatory statement.</text> </paragraph></subsection></section>
