          Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title 38, United States Code, to expand eligibility for homelessness benefits under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HFD9F4C42B23445429469F3C9F6D4D7FD" style="OLC"> 
<section id="HBE4EF057FE2345FBB680480F79FE5AFB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Every Veteran Housed Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HB1E0097EC8FB48CCA5BB317417ADAA14" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Expansion of eligibility for homelessness benefits under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs</header> <subsection id="HB810DEA139674CBB91011AD35AEB3D5E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Expansion</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 2002 of title 38, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H5E411143163A4893AC01A53D3073479A"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a)—</text> <subparagraph id="HC9B128004AB44BC58B5756171C91BA63"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="USC"><enum-in-header>(a) </enum-in-header>In General.—</header-in-text></quote>; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H233DDC9089474B6B9786C042A6B7C45F"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new paragraphs:</text> <quoted-block style="USC" id="H6789C3421A0A468BB3B8091B1E895CCE" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <paragraph id="H89A4FD0FB1184CFD99843BC3551387F1"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>veteran</term> includes a person who was discharged or released from a period of service as a member of the uniformed services—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H700F88491DBC472F8402C63318FA7E9D"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">under conditions other than—</text> <clause id="H6D9D5DABF67C47FA963C9FFDB1BC68E1"><enum>(i)</enum><text>dishonorable; or</text></clause> 
<clause id="HF9587BF79FB54886A808A4FC938F0DD1"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>by reason of the sentence of a general court-martial; and</text></clause></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H67C572E71B8844C28F878C9557C77A9A"><enum>(B)</enum><text>regardless of—</text> 
<clause id="H520D5C9AF798496998367E1D9B34FA8E"><enum>(i)</enum><text>the length of such period of service;</text></clause> <clause id="HC0DD8B356D8545D886CCC226D9B86C24"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>whether such member was a member of an active or reserve component of the uniformed services;</text></clause> 
<clause id="H74D1098479BE4611923BB93BCDF7F97C"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>whether such service was active duty;</text></clause> <clause id="H105DC81512304D3494EF8D0EE49CE179"><enum>(iv)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">whether such person currently serves as a member of the uniformed services; and</text></clause> 
<clause id="H504E3F3BD5EF459DBFAC66A3296A4E39"><enum>(v)</enum><text>whether such person was discharged or released from another period of service under conditions described in clause (i) or (ii) of subparagraph (A).</text></clause></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="H7E975E78EA5E44BE810971E1F3C75E84"><enum>(4)</enum><text>The term <term>uniformed services</term> has the meaning given such term in section 101 of title 10.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HA5A6BD9557CE4082BEE1D900F36A1C46"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking subsection (b).</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="HD6ABF00AB9414B7AA0459BB315D16FD2"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendments</header> <paragraph id="H4819F6300F4840F38EC72B1B8D71AFA9"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Certain service deemed to be active service</header><text>Section 106(b) of such title is amended, in the matter following paragraph (3), by inserting <quote>20,</quote> after <quote>19,</quote>.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HFD2F00F1B22E438A8ACDDB945D5A59F0"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Minimum active-duty service requirement</header><text>Section 5303A(b)(3)(F) of such title is amended by striking <quote>section 2011, 2012, 2013, 2044, or 2061</quote> and inserting <quote>chapter 20</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
