<section id="HDE250FFC790843B3B5F2ADDC3AAB23B2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Prohibition on certain Federal Government use of facial recognition technology</header>
<subsection id="HB2BA884EEA4A415DACACD723C2C200BC"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">An agency of the Federal Government may not use facial recognition technology as a means of identity verification.</text></subsection> <subsection id="HDFB0D4E270904792BE069EB1CB745525"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Facial recognition technology defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the term <term>facial recognition technology</term> means a contemporary security system that automatically identifies and verifies the identity of an individual from a digital image or video frame.</text></subsection></section>
