<section id="H6E5EBBF6265540B59A1F1CADEACE6243" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Death Penalty for Dealing Fentanyl Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H5B84E736962449148BDDFCA55AA968C6"><enum>2.</enum><header>Knowing distribution of fentanyl where death results</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Part D of the Controlled Substances Act is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<section id="HDB35CE4D559043A187CD8E553EC603DD"><enum>424.</enum><header>Knowing distribution of fentanyl where death results</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Any person who is convicted of an offense under section 401(a)(1) or section 416 by distributing, possessing with intent to distribute, or manufacturing fentanyl shall, if death results, be punished—</text> <paragraph id="H09DB7E5FA6464046A3163E61C573F659"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by death or imprisonment for any term of years or for life; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HE895491B7C6041FE891FDA85F84E742B"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by a fine under title 18, United States Code.</text></paragraph></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section> </legis-body></bill>
