R. 3581</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250523">May 23, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="C001120">Mr. Crenshaw</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HIF00">Committee on Energy and Commerce</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to delay certain disproportionate share hospital payment reductions under the Medicaid program.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HDC1360926F224F90828C7301CF8BD6B4"><section id="H8444C56816F34470BE2377C7F3550D58" section-type="section-one" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protect DSH Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H7BCAFBF776EF41FD9E47DAA06F9E874A"><enum>2.</enum><header>Delaying DSH Reductions</header><subsection id="H64B7D55445C647969517BE30999D63EF" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Section 1923(f) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1396r-4">42 U.S.C. 1396r–4(f)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H5BCAFBF776EF41FD9E47DAA06F9E874A"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (7)(A)—</text><subparagraph id="H4BCAFBF776EF41FD9E47DAA06F9E874A"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in clause (i)—</text><clause id="H3BCAFBF776EF41FD9E47DAA06F9E874A"><enum>(i)</enum><text>in the matter preceding subclause (I), by striking <quote>2026 through 2028</quote> and inserting <quote>2029 through 2031</quote>; and </text></clause><clause id="H2BCAFBF776EF41FD9E47DAA06F9E874A"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>in subclause (II), by striking <quote>or period</quote>; and </text></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H8BCAFBF776EF41FD9E45DAA06F9E874A"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in clause (ii), by striking <quote>2026 through 2028</quote> and inserting <quote>2029 through 2031</quote>; and (2) in paragraph (8), by striking <quote>2027</quote> and inserting <quote>2031</quote>. </text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
