<section id="H64ACA37680A04AEDB6665D575CD4C6A5" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Scheduling Tianeptine and Analogues Now to Defend Against Emerging Opioids Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>STAND Against Emerging Opioids Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H4DCE7DED55FF42B09E0F44F17A599C58"><enum>2.</enum><header>Scheduling of tianeptine</header> <subsection id="H343B236A548D4AE2A884AF65E00D2B11"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 202(c) of the Controlled Substances Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/21/812">21 U.S.C. 812(c)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end of schedule III the following:</text>

<subsection id="H58D869907DEE43B0BDF45C99CF4C04DA"><enum>(f)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Tianeptine, including its analogues, salts, isomers, and salts of isomers.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> <subsection id="H34368009500C4829B0811EE3DD60B415"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall become effective on the date that is 90 days after the date of enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section>
