<section id="H7C12C631EA7744BEAC135D8F1C937709" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Federal Mechanical Insulation Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H022580ADD2D442FCAF5392EE653616B3"><enum>2.</enum><header>Installation of mechanical insulation property as an energy or water efficiency measure in Federal buildings</header> <subsection id="H33E92DD496CB4284AE5BED434A36D661"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Definition of mechanical insulation property</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 543(f)(1) of the National Energy Conservation Policy Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/8253">42 U.S.C. 8253(f)(1)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text> 
<quoted-block style="OLC" id="HC863F9FBC9CF4C8F94B36C2FBDFEDCFD" display-inline="no-display-inline"> 
<subparagraph id="H7133E0C01731483D880E0FD08EC5D174"><enum>(I)</enum><header>Mechanical insulation property</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>mechanical insulation property</term> means insulation materials, facings, and accessory products—</text> <clause id="H116298AF298740169E3F2CCD1C105640"><enum>(i)</enum><text>placed in service—</text> 
<subclause id="H8E226ECDAB434559B6B05807F678350E"><enum>(I)</enum><text>in connection with a mechanical system; and</text></subclause> <subclause id="HE75474D6F971407A91D46270D93A8F64" commented="no"><enum>(II)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in a manner that meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers Standard 90.1, as in effect on the date of enactment of this subparagraph; and</text></subclause></clause> 
<clause id="HC969D6597B614D20BBD2131DF04D7736"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">which result in a reduction in energy loss from the mechanical system.</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> <subsection id="HDBD5908D483441E59A5E20A65B983199"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Comprehensive energy and water evaluations</header><text>Section 543(f)(3)(A) of the National Energy Conservation Policy Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/8253">42 U.S.C. 8253(f)(3)(A)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting <quote>, including identification of energy- and water-saving measures (including the installation of mechanical insulation property, if applicable),</quote> after <quote>a comprehensive energy and water evaluation</quote>.</text></subsection></section>
