<section id="H815A3DEF92A544CAA69BF7D1881EDE24" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Solid American Hardwood Tax Credit Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H8C5A0F599732481CBF9E8DE3394F2CAA"><enum>2.</enum><header>Modification of energy efficient home improvement credit</header> 
<subsection id="H7FADE3AF251A43C399308DFA9962DC2D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Inclusion of credit for natural carbon sink expenditures</header> 
<paragraph id="HECE2C17885C5430F988E88A55E015C03"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/25C">Section 25C(a)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end of paragraph (2), by striking the period at the end of paragraph (3) and inserting <quote>, and</quote>, and by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" id="H5AA71041C3AA4D22B68776A1EA505D96" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <paragraph id="HE6D33C3A2C5F4415A2DA5B3CE8269355"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the amount of the natural carbon sink expenditures paid or incurred by the taxpayer during such taxable year.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H65D2899655354F94A6D1A0EB7C55A223"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Natural carbon sink expenditures</header><text>Section 25C of such Code is amended by redesignating subsections (f), (g), and (h) as subsections (g), (h), and (i), respectively, and by inserting after subsection (e) the following new subsection:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" id="H551E921B2CDB48D1B351C7A9EA802B2E" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <subsection id="H1FBDDC656EC84BBC81F278387EA13EE1"><enum>(f)</enum><header>Natural carbon sink expenditures</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For purposes of this section—</text> 
<paragraph id="HF7F738FA12AB4A519069795399E63489"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The term <quote>natural carbon sink expenditures</quote> means expenditures made by the taxpayer for any natural carbon sink if—</text> <subparagraph id="HD773D1E81E694325A78D915842BF4902"><enum>(A)</enum><text>such natural carbon sink is installed on or in connection with a dwelling unit located in the United States and owned and used by the taxpayer as the taxpayer’s principal residence (within the meaning of section 121),</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H0478CBEA500C45A49D4646A1691A84D4"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the original use of such natural carbon sink commences with the taxpayer, and</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="HCB15DBB4A00A434AAD86B62F75D9F2D3"><enum>(C)</enum><text>such natural carbon sink reasonably can be expected to remain in use for at least 5 years.</text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H717C8F85EBED4D6E86BF4FAFFEEA7F6A"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Natural carbon sink</header><text>The term <quote>natural carbon sink</quote> means any flooring, paneling, millwork, cabinetry doors, cabinetry facing, window, or skylight, comprised of deciduous trees grown and processed in the United States.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="H8AEBA19EA7E74655A9375AB30445224D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Extension of credit</header><text>Section 25C(i)(2) of such Code, as redesignated by subsection (a)(2), is amended by striking <quote>2032</quote> and inserting <quote>2035</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HA47179E3B2EB4054A59D160D71F11637"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to property placed in service after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
