R. 3014</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250424">April 24, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="R000617">Mrs. Ramirez</sponsor> (for herself and <cosponsor name-id="K000402">Mr. Kennedy of New York</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HVR00">Committee on Veterans' Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title 38, United States Code, to expand the authority of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to make grants to entities that furnish services to homeless veterans.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H687694F097464966A163A0B5A93C43A0" style="OLC"><section id="H7E6092605710412C89B60736DC57D864" commented="no" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Authority to make grants to entities that assist homeless veterans: expansion; criteria</header><subsection id="H98EA578C05C94FA98DC026ADAA6C30AA"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Expansion</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 2011 of title 38, United States Code is amended, in subsection (a), by adding at the end the following new paragraphs:</text><quoted-block style="USC" id="H1B7BCF115E3D4034B62469BEA4B9C81F" display-inline="no-display-inline"><paragraph id="H15666C7C502A4AA89CC50903CBA5E996" commented="no"><enum>(5)</enum><text>Assistance in obtaining any benefit under laws administered by the Secretary for which the veteran may be eligible.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HF12D417FBB7C4EFA8F7CFC1D9FF4FD0B" commented="no"><enum>(6)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Assistance in obtaining and coordinating other benefits—</text><subparagraph id="H79E3DA9E7CEC43848FD08A3BED98F3B2"><enum>(A)</enum><text>under Federal, State, or local law; or</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HC6C7B2FFDBB8402DA52FE3A480279C19"><enum>(B)</enum><text>from a private nonprofit organization or consumer cooperative, as such terms are defined in section 2044 of this title.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection id="HF9FE4B44F8424AE590097731A3B64691"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Criteria</header><text>Such section is further amended, in subsection (b)(1)(A), by inserting <quote>(including conversion of units to permanent housing)</quote> after <quote>alteration of existing facilities</quote>.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
