<section id="HCD42AA00468D40DFA3D3D0D054A5777B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Gold Star Family Education Parity Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section> <section id="HCECA530098664454B5E657473E389FBB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Termination of authority for certain educational assistance program</header> <subsection id="HF3448B39228A4EA59AEAA50D967C8524"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Survivors’ and dependents’ educational assistance</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/38/35">Chapter 35</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new subchapter:</text>

<subchapter id="H1939D299956243D4BA305CE5A4ED3666"><enum>VIII</enum><header>Termination</header>
<section id="H256E1B35528F408A96644932230651FE"><enum>3571.</enum><header>Termination of authority</header>
<subsection id="HE2E80AEB1B2B4BA995B5E3415221F90A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The authority to provide educational assistance under this chapter shall terminate on August 1, 2029.</text></subsection> <subsection id="H028DB3AE1C284E77AD6C8CAECF611140"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Eligibility for post-9/11 educational assistance</header><text>An individual who is no longer eligible for educational assistance under this chapter pursuant to subsection (a) shall be entitled to educational assistance under chapter 33 of this title in the same manner as if the individual had elected to receive educational assistance under section 3327 of this title, notwithstanding the restrictions on crediting service under section 3322(h)(1) of this title, but subject to the limitations under section 3327(d)(2) of this title.</text></subsection></section></subchapter><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection>
