R. 270</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250109">January 9, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="D000628">Mr. Dunn of Florida</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Committee on Foreign Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To authorize the waiver of costs of activities relating to evacuation of United States citizens when their lives are endangered by war or acts of terrorism.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HE59092F5964648A784A91B0FCE7EAB9B" style="OLC"><section id="H5653FFADD3E54B929A4853D72ECE1DB0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Waiver of costs of activities relating to evacuation of United States citizens when their lives are endangered by war or acts of terrorism</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 4 of the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2671">22 U.S.C. 2671</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H4841ADD93D1E473E94E50714544A0D96" display-inline="no-display-inline"><subsection id="HED15662BBA984947B112C4664B416515"><enum>(e)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">With regard to the repatriations loan program, the Secretary of State is authorized to waive the costs of activities relating to evacuation of United States citizens when their lives are endangered by war or acts of terrorism.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
