<section id="HE1D5B3A89DF7477F89BBC70C7C9D14D3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Youth Mental Health Research Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H91C2880CB05A4D2D9135D20BAF61C483"><enum>2.</enum><header>Collaborative research on youth mental health</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Part B of title IV of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/284">42 U.S.C. 284 et seq.</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<section id="H75AFD09F931D4989B81AC7C0D72250C1"><enum>409K.</enum><header>Collaborative research on youth mental health</header> 
<subsection id="H97CFA7FEDE2742ACAEB9CEC4DD445126"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Director of NIH shall establish a Youth Mental Health Research Initiative, to be led by the Director of the National Institute of Mental Health, in collaboration with the Director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and the Director of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, to coordinate and encourage collaboration among the national research institutes and national centers with respect to fundamental and applied research on youth mental health, including—</text> <paragraph id="H8237285453634AB7942D8C63C6261D58"><enum>(1)</enum><text>social, behavioral, cognitive, and developmental research, to build resilience and increase the capacity of communities to identify and care for youth at risk or in crisis; and </text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H7FCE2A67D3304D349A4603B387737EE8"><enum>(2)</enum><text>research to improve the targeting and delivery of mental health interventions in clinical and community settings where youth live, play, work, and learn.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="HEDF84371C26441E7946888133F72A725"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text>There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $100,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2030.</text></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
