<section id="HBBC26F9EE747449E87BD558DE558879C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Worker Enfranchisement Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H8767036E6A284B068529CFE6E6972A94"><enum>2.</enum><header>Employee enfranchisement</header> <subsection id="H0A8AD978508A42CF86F8E2258496D1BC"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 9 of the National Labor Relations Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/159">29 U.S.C. 159</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
<paragraph id="HF8353159FECF453B9C677CD46C7A5519" commented="no"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a), by inserting <quote>That no person shall be an exclusive representative of employees in such unit unless such person has been designated or selected as the exclusive representative of such employees by a majority of the voters in a secret ballot election in which not less than two-thirds of such employees vote; <italic>Provided further</italic>, </quote> after <quote>employment: <italic>Provided</italic>, </quote>; and </text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H2101EBA6EAD542FAB6C7494CE491931D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (c)(3), by inserting <quote>of the at least two-thirds of employees eligible to vote</quote> after <quote>majority</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H4EB904C4B325480F88C013DB861C79E8"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this Act shall apply in relation to elections occurring on or after the date that is 6 months after the date of enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
