<section id="H0B84064D6E714486839F4A266EF3CF54" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Pit River Land Transfer Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H49318780A675479A95FE32540E009E21"><enum>2.</enum><header>Findings</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Congress finds that—</text> 
<paragraph id="HDFC1DE4BCA684C4FA7E7EC965375AEC5"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the Four Corners land is located in the ancestral territory of the Pit River Tribe; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HC2145D686E074A468DEDE376D1ADFB97"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the Pit River Tribe has historically used, and has an ongoing relationship with, the Four Corners land. </text></paragraph></section> 
<section id="HBD0407BF430F4B6CB94A5FBC91ED4C34"><enum>3.</enum><header>Land to be taken into trust</header> 
<subsection id="H636CD1A9FB0B4E0BAF9960E76660F8AE"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Transfer of Four Corners Federal land</header> 
<paragraph id="H5D2D3BAE7AFE47498A31571FC955040E"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subject to valid existing rights, the Four Corners Federal land is hereby taken into trust by the Secretary for the benefit of the Tribe. </text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H7D916837372E4D56895D2210B303C416"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Survey</header><text>Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Agriculture shall provide to the Secretary a complete survey of the Four Corners Federal land. </text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="HD1ECF6890E0B4DC8942C6D1F6484558A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Transfer of Four Corners Fee land</header> 
<paragraph id="HC843F601FEFA460A80F92F2848102082"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, at the request of the Tribe, the Secretary shall accept title to the Four Corners Fee land. </text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H8C1C902979E74FD28D66F8B6E87A1851"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Land taken into trust</header><text>Not later than 180 days after the completion of the transfer of the title to the Four Corners Fee land to the Secretary pursuant to paragraph (1), the Secretary shall take the Four Corners Fee land into trust for the benefit of the Tribe.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H54A83D9330C242AC8D2968C5BC1DCD29"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Administration</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Upon being taken into trust under this section, the lands taken into trust by the Secretary for the benefit of the Tribe shall be—</text> <paragraph id="HE88E479320474363B59676EA2A55BD50"><enum>(1)</enum><text>considered part of the Pit River Tribe Reservation; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H36683911A1C64AB692C10973398FF3B4"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">administered by the Secretary in accordance with the laws and regulations generally applicable to property held in trust by the United States for an Indian Tribe.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="H25C5E6B404AE445A857665B6574BDF1C"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Gaming prohibited</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Land taken into trust under this section shall not be used for any class II gaming or class III gaming under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/25/2701">25 U.S.C. 2701 et seq.</external-xref>) (as those terms are defined in section 4 of that Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/25/2703">25 U.S.C. 2703</external-xref>)).</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H24226B7C921C47ADBDBA1852896DCB4C"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this Act:</text> <paragraph id="H541E7991779B4C8D831527FC2EA7407B"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Four Corners Federal land</header> <subparagraph id="HF6E8E33FBE6D4D5FA846C8D89B79CA22"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The term <term>Four Corners Federal land</term> means the approximately 583.79 acres of land managed by the Forest Service generally depicted within the <quote>Proposed Land Conveyance</quote> boundary on the Map, including improvements and appurtenances thereon. </text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H903F5630241044888CED038588D32AF7"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Exclusion</header><text>The term <term>Four Corners Federal land</term> does not include the approximately 20.03 acres of roads, highways, and public rights-of-way subject to existing easements generally depicted within the <quote>Proposed Land Conveyance</quote> boundary on the Map. </text></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="HD691575E94524E6EBFF989299A918A4A"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Four Corners Fee land</header><text>The term <term>Four Corners Fee land</term> means the approximately 40.18 acres of land generally depicted as <quote>Tribal-Owned Property</quote> on the Map. </text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HCD704C8E2B5E4A2C87EDE33862BB55F7"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Map</header><text>The term <term>Map</term> means the map titled <quote>Proposed Land Conveyance to the Pit River Tribe</quote> prepared by the Forest Service and dated November 6, 2024.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H7683319C0B4A45EDA7B413D6082B0561"><enum>(4)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The term <term>Secretary</term> means the Secretary of the Interior.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H970317B54B54485BA41E0B00BCADA437"><enum>(5)</enum><header>Tribe</header><text>The term <term>Tribe</term> means the Pit River Tribe, California (includes XL Ranch, Big Bend, Likely, Lookout, Montgomery Creek, and Roaring Creek Rancherias). </text></paragraph></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
