R. 235</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250107">January 7, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="M001206">Mr. Morelle</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="L000600">Mr. Langworthy</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To recognize the Margaret Woodbury Strong Museum in Rochester, New York.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H20B557F45C5B4CB39A35E64566B3FC11" style="OLC"><section id="HF8891A422A3E4A0E8290AD3F5304E2C9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>National Museum of Play Recognition Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HBA168FAB31E44BD1B2C03C1073E35372"><enum>2.</enum><header>Designation of National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York</header><subsection id="HB2577C414BD1417CAE1BFC87B0ED17EA"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Congressional recognition</header><text>Congress—</text><paragraph id="H3E32DC2F9252464A9E20E19202D1E89B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>recognizes that the Margaret Woodbury Strong Museum, DBA Strong Museum, located in Rochester, New York, is the only museum of its kind that exists for the exclusive purpose of exploring the ways in which play encourages learning, creativity, and discovery, and how it illuminates cultural history; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H3DC9D14241EA4CBB83363EBE83A45E1D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>officially designates the Margaret Woodbury Strong Museum as the National Museum of Play.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H30B75E1EAA144447BEE02677BCE6293E"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effect of recognition; designation</header><text>The National Museum of Play recognized in subsection (a) is not a unit of the National Park System and the designation under subsection (a) shall not be construed to require or permit Federal funds to be expended for any purpose related to the Museum.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
